Re: Eateries & stuff to do in Brum

Small Heath Alliance

baldrick

I’m having a birthday weekend with the Mrs in Brum 10th December, staying near Brindley Place

Haven’t really spent much time in the City since I left home in the 80s

Any suggestions on places to go & decent eateries that might not be jam packed with Xmas parties?

Then misses a couple of opportunities .
But clearly he’s comfortable in this company.

So….under Eustace we had more possession, more accurate passes, more passing sequences of 10+ and less direct attacks than under Rooney

Lol

I just won a bet ????
I wouldn’t have given you long odds ???? ????

The "Parachute Payment" Unfair Myth (15 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Just listened to the latest episode of The Rest Is Football Podcast, this time featuring Steve Parish (Palace Owner).

He stated that the average position for a newly relegated side receiving parachute payments is 8th, the average position in their 2nd season claiming parachute payments is 13th.
Further proof that "they've got a premier league squad anyway" is absolute tosh and should no longer be used as an excuse to accept defeat against any side in this league.

The best marker for success is wage bills, not transfer fees.
While it's possible to simply overpay players clubs tend to get what they pay for, over a few seasons.
It's partly that players generally only sign one cheap contract. If you keep finishing top 6 players want to be paid for it. If you won't pay someone else will.

It's easier to do a Dong and overpay players

Obsessed with us.

Really good article, actually

Now I know most of SHA will be in the pub tonight or doing something really exiting but for those at home and those who can be bothered to set the record button.

830pm Discovering: New order

9pm Record On. The story of New Orders 1983 classic album Power corruption and Lies.

Great nights viewing sorted.

Re: What’s for Breakfast?

Small Heath Alliance

Happened 14 hours ago. Rice with raw egg, soy sauce and seaweed, some unidentified black and orange pickle and a bowl of miso soup. Cup of macha tea. After 2 weeks in Tokyo I've had enough of this stuff, we're flying back in a few hours and when we get home I'm going to gorge myself on proper toast.

Can't complain about the price in the local café though: 345¥ is under £2 the lot.

Great Board games

Small Heath Alliance

I'm looking to update my family board game collection again. Has anyone played any good ones recently? . Always good for a Christmas family get together.

Sequence is a favourite of ours, it's just a shame it's limited to 2 or 3 players.

Cheers.

What’s for Breakfast?

Small Heath Alliance

Quick turnaround at BlueNation headquarters this morning as I’m working.

Tea and toast. A classic I feel in the canon of great breakfasts.

Only have sourdough bread though, Mrs BlueNation is a huge fan of it.

Never fully convinced myself, who meds bread whose crust is so hard you need a steak knife to cut it, AND that cuts your mouth apart as you eat it?

Have a good day.
