Karanka's first 15 games Boro/Blues compared (15 replies)
Boro: P15 W6 D5 L4 F16 A11 PTS 23 Clean sheets: 9
Blues: P15 W3 D7 L5 F11 A14 PTS 16 Clean sheets: 5
He took over at Boro after thay had been out of the Prem for five years, so presuming their squad not great, although probably better than ours, by not too much. Tony Mowbray probably left a better legacy than Pep, and the owners undoubtedly were more stable, so the club was run better.
I'm not making excuses for the last six games, but I think it's a tougher turnaround than Boro, and if he had actually turned two of those seven draws into wins, it would be broadly the same record.
No excuses though, he's made mistakes and it is awful to watch! But I'm trying to keep some perspective.
These three results from Karanka's 13,14,15 games made me laugh:
Middlesbrough 0–0 Wigan Athletic
Doncaster Rovers 0–0 Middlesbrough
Blackburn Rovers 0–0 Middlesbrough
Its not going to be fun is it, but if he can score some goals I still have faith, for now at least.
Here are my three SHA rules for keeping good mental health:
1) Don't comment on a Villa thread - nothing good comes of it (unless it's a relegation confirmed thread) (250 comments in one day this week!)
2) Don't wish relegation on us, self harm is no long-term strategy
3) Sleep on it before declaring "you're done", we've had lots of great moments that will always stay with us. I miss our shabby home, and I want to go back, no matter what.
Have a good day all, the sun always comes up. At least it does in London, not sure about you buggers. ;-)
