Re: Fans back

Small Heath Alliance

Actually I've been the same as you on general feel for football this year so my reaction to fans singing took me a little off guard. Then again I can be a soft bugger at the best of times.

Tyldsley and McCoist

Small Heath Alliance

Doing the Liverpool-Wolves game this evening for Amazon. Such a fantastic commentary team. Far better than the ones heard so much more often week in, week out.

Absolute farce that Tyldsley was basically drummed out by his old employer.

Fans back (Liverpool Match)

Small Heath Alliance

Now I know Liverpool are a bit, er, marmite on this forum, but did anyone else get a bit emotional hearing real live fans singing YNWA this evening? Realised I can't wait to sing an even better song down Stans soon.

Re: Anyone an art expert?

Small Heath Alliance

Thanks all for the advice! See, you arent all here to take the pee! I love the piece but I just cant see 3k being worth it, despite me loving the piece. They have star wars artwork in there also by Robert bailey, but even 1400 for his pieces is steep as he isnt even licenced by Lucasfilm.

Some Jon Jones peaky blinder pieces in there that are quite nice at a snip of those also.

Don't buy art as an investment. Buy it because you like it.

Re: Peter Alliss RIP

Small Heath Alliance

He made a comment once about the wife of a golfer who has just won a major. Something along the lines of she can buy herself a new kitchen.

If you look at most famous sportsmen and who they end up marrying, usually some worldie who in normal life they wouldn't get anywhere near, then his comment did have a degree of truth in it.

What a joke in the WBA game.

WSL: Chelsea extend unbeaten home run as fans return

Small Heath Alliance

Sam Kerr scored a hat-trick as Chelsea held on for a 3-2 win at home to West Ham as the Women's Super League welcomed back fans for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tenent WTF Was All That About? (2 replies)

Just spent the last 2.5 hours being the most baffled and confused by a storyline in any film I have ever watched. The background music drowning out the dialogue for the majority of it didn't help either.

Advice please (14 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Morning all, hope everyone's ok and not too hungover this morning!

Right, as some of you know I've been ill and off work all year, I had a case review with work about 4 weeks ago now and was told I've got 4 weeks to get a date for return to work or at least a date for my operation(s) otherwise I will be dismissed.

Over the past few weeks I've seeked legal advice and been told due to being covered by the equality act 2010 and have had up to date doctors notes all year its discrimination and unfair dismissal. Читать дальше...

What a numpty.

Whatever you think of him or the lockdown this really does show what a plonker he is.

Re: villa Thread

He is DES - his antics totally ruin it for me though, strangely for England he seems to behave better - got to wonder how much of it is driven by the vile manager he plays for?

F.A.O Des, Bristol away late 60's/early 70's (10 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Do you remember this Des, some great memories from the Bristol forum, and they are mostly fair to us. Talking about when Blues took their East end stand, some reckon we were the only ones to stand in it all game, even Millwall tried.
I remember the game in 1990 when they brought a mob of about 300 up they was in Digbeth, we was in town heard through the grapevine they was here, (pre-mobile days), went down for 'em but old bill had got 'em by then, think some Blues had engaged though. After the game though it was like a war-zone... Читать дальше...

Was at that one at Bolton as well Bordesley. We lost 3-1. Colin Gordon scored for Blues.

Wouldn't have been anymore than 500 Blues there. A tough day out that one.

Great days though. We were hopeless on the pitch and most fans had given up.

Blues always turned out for the big games but with normal away followings at 500/600 things used to get a bit ropey.

Bellingham again (6 replies)

Another bunch of nice words from him.
Sorry if posted previously. I hadn’t seen it though

Nice time of year for this to be posted. We all know what a fantastic, amazing family he has and I'm sure his parents, Mary and Joseph will be feeling especially proud this year.

The English Game (1 reply)

Small Heath Alliance

Just started watching this Netflix movie about football in the late 1870's. I am really impressed with the acting and portrayal of the characters of the day, mainly Lord Kinnaird who is played by Edward Holcroft.

He played in every position and was, at that time, a football star having played in nine FA Cup finals and becoming president of the FA for 33 years.

I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Expectations Part 2 (8 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Said before the season started fan expectations were important this year and still stand by that.

I know we can all be fickle but the big picture is always important and we must remember Karanka walked into a ???? show of a club. He gave us a clue saying its a 3 year project.

He has had his first attempt at rebuilding the squad and it will take time. Note. We were still shopping at the bargain end of the market with the Bellingham money needed to keep us going as a club.
