Re: If you want to sack AK...

Small Heath Alliance

Wigan had a decent team and we would have finished above them even with Clotet if we kept up pre lockdown form. The 8-0 was more down to hull than Wigan.

Fans "taking the knee" (15 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

So, when spectators are allowed back, what's going to be the accepted rule while players are "taking the knee"

Silence ?
Applause ?
Carry on as normal ? .. ie singing whatever chant is happening at that time
Spectators taking the knee at the same time ?

Re: Fans "taking the knee"

Small Heath Alliance

I’d applaud , after they took the knee and kicked off , now I know how much it would annoy people

Marc Roberts' distribution (15 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Possibly the worst distribution of a Blues player in a long time?

Gets the ball, looks up and then plays a long, hopeless ball into no-one. Every. Single. Time.

Sure, he's good in the air. But he's not good enough for this level. The basic you'd expect from a Championship player is that they can pass a ball.

Transfer strategy (6 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Has anyone any idea what our current transfer strategy is?

Interesting article on the BBC on Seville’s transfer strategy - “Sell to grow” - and the importance they place on a Sporting Director and having a structured, data driven process in place where the idea is to grow players, sell them on at a profit and then replace them with a cheaper model and repeat.

Arguably Brentford do something similar on a smaller scale.

It seemed to me that... Читать дальше...

Bela's About

There's a reason we look like a team bereft of leadership or character, it's because we sign players like that.

We've made a real habit of signing waifs and strays, those who have something to prove or have fallen out elsewhere.

It's all done on the cheap as well.

Hogan- fell out with his previous club.

Crowley- known attitude problem

Villalba- issues with him or we wouldn't have got him.

Halilovic- as above

Leko- always injured, barely played. Читать дальше...

Back to basics. (36 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

He has to find a team and formation that can settle down to the sole task of avoiding relegation now. Everything he's done so far has gone to rats, The players have become unsettled and lost confidence and last night looked bewildered.

I'd go for a straightforward 4-4-2

RB Colin
CD Dean
CD Friend
LB Pederson

RSM Sanchez
CM Gardner
CM Sunjic
LSM Bela

F Juke
No 10 Leko ( or Halilovic if he's as good as they say )

Re: Back to basics.

Small Heath Alliance

I think in would leave is exposed defending wide areas as none of our centre halfs have true pace or look comfortable playing as a three..
Our wingers in Bela and Sanchez aren't suited to tracking back to defend either.
The 3 CH system would result in playing more long balls to Juke as we have no defensive width to play out from the back - we already play too much long ball with Colin / Pads playing as 'wing backs'

I'd happily take relegation if it meant our wonderful owners fecked off.

Come to think of it , Karanka and the entire spineless squad can feck off as well.

Tonight's betting - any thoughts ? (2 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

**** warning, the advice i gave last week was an absolute disaster, so probably best to ignore me ****

Tonight, .. easily the two most frugal defences in The Championship Middlesbrough v Swansea - price therefore on under 3.5 goals is understandably low 1.21 ... but the LAY opportunity on over 3.5 goals goals is tempting at 5.8

Middlesbrough v Swansea over 3.5 goals ... LAY @ 5.8

Anything else caught anyone else's eye ?

Simple question: Sack or back? (87 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

There I've said it

Straw poll after what we've seen this season and what you think of the future with Aitor and gang overseeing proceedings?

Answers please: Sack or Back

Square pegs in a round holes (no replies)

Small Heath Alliance

I’ve been saying for ages that we could sign Messi & Ronaldo and make them look shit.

Why don’t we to players strengths with a system that suits our best players. Team changes should be made with very similar players that just fit in to the system instead of everything changing.

Our club have no direction and you could go on forever.

We need a miracle to have a half decent season.

So frustrating when we have a good squad of players but ask them to play to there weaknesses. Читать дальше...

Karanka's first 15 games Boro/Blues compared (15 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Out of interest, nothing else, here's Karanka's first 15 games at Boro compared with Blues:

Boro: P15 W6 D5 L4 F16 A11 PTS 23 Clean sheets: 9
Blues: P15 W3 D7 L5 F11 A14 PTS 16 Clean sheets: 5

He took over at Boro after thay had been out of the Prem for five years, so presuming their squad not great, although probably better than ours, by not too much. Tony Mowbray probably left a better legacy than Pep, and the owners undoubtedly were more stable, so the club was run better. Читать дальше...

Karanka (111 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Before he was appointed loads of people were concerned that he would come and Dong would upset him and he'd walk away - Come on Dongie lad do your stuff and go piss in his pond, he might just feck off.

Re: Karanka

Small Heath Alliance

Never wanted him in the first place. He's so negative he makes rowett n mcleish look like guardiola.

The players have all but accepted they shouldn't attack. You can see how shit the body language is.

He is a spanish cotteril at best and needs replacing now. Not 4 games from the end. Now.

We aren't showing any signs of improvement and are going backwards game by game.

Missing hiker in France - bizarre story (7 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

A few weeks ago there was an article on the BBC page about a couple who fed up with the rat race sold up and bought a camper and traveled Europe, I thought cool story, kind of a dream of mine.

Bizarrely, the story went on to say the couple were not currently together that the girl had gone off on her own for a hike, I thought this was very strange, why do a story if they go off and do their own thing.

But this is where the twist kicks in, a few days later the BBC reported that... Читать дальше...

The article says they've gone and done different things in the past. I just think it's a bit of a coincidence, none of it seems sinister to me on his part.
