eBay will soon let you shop using photos

eBay is introducing two new features for its mobile apps that use image matching to help customers search for products they might not be able to describe. The Image Search feature lets users shop by uploading a photo onto the app’s search bar. The Find It On eBay feature allows shoppers on any social media platform or website to share an image they like with eBay, which will then spit out listings matching the product.

YouTube’s head of music confirms YouTube Red and Google Play Music will merge to create a new service

YouTube's head of music confirmed that the company is planning on merging its Google Play Music service with YouTube Red to create a new streaming offering. During a panel session for the New Music Seminar conference in New York, Lyor Cohen stated that the company needed to merge the two services to help educate consumers and bring in new subscribers.

HTC is launching an all-in-one Vive headset just for China

HTC is partnering with Qualcomm for a self-contained Vive virtual reality headset exclusive to the Chinese market. The headset, called the Vive Standalone, is billed as a “premium” device and will run apps from HTC’s Viveport platform. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 835 chip and is based on Qualcomm’s all-in-one reference design, which includes inside-out positional tracking that would put it in the company of high-end tethered headsets.

Jon Stewart’s first stand-up special in 20 years will air on HBO

Jon Stewart will be performing his first recorded stand-up comedy special in more than 20 years for HBO, the cable network announced this evening. The special doesn’t have a name, date, or location yet, but it will be Stewart’s first time performing traditional stand-up since his HBO special, “Jon Stewart: Unleavened,” all the way back in 1996. Apple supplier Foxconn unveils plan to build a $10 billion LCD factory in Wisconsin

Apple supplier Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, revealed plans today to build a new facility for producing LCD panels in Wisconsin. The news was announced at an event this evening with Foxconn chief Terry Gou and US President Donald Trump, who has aggressively pressured both domestic and foreign corporations to invest in the US.
