At my high school, it wasn't "cool" to make an effort during PE. I distinctly remember being told this during a basketball game where I out-hustled a kid six inches taller than me for a rebound. I paused for a moment, and then went back to hustling. "Nah," I thought to myself. "I'd rather win." Ever since then, I've always considered myself on the side of the tryhards. If you can win with seemingly zero effort, good for you. But in my opinion, it's better to break a sweat than to lose the game.

Dell has revealed a preview of its next XPS 13 model, a snow white 13-inch ultrabook that features the company’s Infinity Edge display. The company is expected to reveal more about the model during CES 2018 in January, but Dell showed the preview to TechRadar during the publication’s tour of its headquarters in Texas.

The first trailer for Keanu Reeves’ upcoming sci-fi thriller Replicas was released at the New York Comic Con panel today, where he was joined by director Jeffrey Nachmanoff and producer Stephen Hamel. In the film, Reeves plays a neuroscientist named William Foster whose wife and three kids are killed in a car crash. Facebook today announced a new Apple Music integration for Messenger that allows you to stream full songs, a first for the social network’s messaging service. Prior to this partnership, you could build collaborative Spotify playlists inside Messenger group chats and Facebook’s digital AI assistant M would also recommend songs via Spotify based the content of your conversations. Yet you could not stream full songs, until today.

Sony has partnered with winter and water sports brand Never Summer to manufacture a limited edition PlayStation 1-themed snowboard for reasons that are not quite clear. What is clear is that this board looks pretty rad actually. It has that late ‘90s video game hardware aesthetic, with the throwback PlayStation logo, bright color streaks, and a blown-up rectangular snippet of an original PSX image.

For months, White House chief of staff John Kelly has been compromised by digital attackers, according to a new report from Politico. The breach was discovered after Kelly reported functional glitches to White House tech support over the summer. It’s still unclear when the initial infection occurred, although the glitches had persisted for months. The infection was further described in a memo circulated by White House staff in September.

Amazon is testing a new delivery service that could reduce overcrowding in its factory warehouses and bring two-day Prime shipping to more of its products, according to a report from Bloomberg today. Amazon usually leaves delivery up to third-party partners, including FedEx and UPS, making this yet another move toward reducing its reliance on outside entities and vertically integrating its logistics chain.

HP has canceled plans to build out a line of Windows phones due to Microsoft’s general disinterest in continuing to battle Google and Apple on mobile. Nick Lazaridis, president of the EMEA regions at HP, told The Register that HP decided “it doesn't make sense” to continue making Windows phones because Microsoft “decided on a change in strategy” and is now “less focused” on Windows mobile.

Western Digital has made a massive 14TB hard drive, but it’s only being sold to data centers. The new Ultrastar Hs14 is the world’s first 14TB hard drive, according to Western Digital, and the company says it will have transfer speeds of up to 223MiB/s in both SATA and SAS formats.
