Jalen Duren was in the midst of another noteworthy performance when he pulled down his 11th rebound with 2:16 left in the Pistons’ latest loss. However, the defensive board came at a cost. The second-year center tweaked his left ankle when he landed and immediately collapsed to the floor, clutching his leg. Play resumed for nearly 20 seconds until Isaiah Stewart intentionally fouled Desmond Bane, who scored a career-high 49 points on Wednesday night. After the game, Pistons coach Monty Williams said he didn’t know the severity of Duren’s latest ankle injury. “When he lays on the floor like that, you gotta think it’s something that’s pretty serious just from that standpoint but we don’t have an official (update),” Williams said. “It was good to see him kind of limp off instead of being carried off, but we just have to wait until he gets the scan and see where he’s at.” -via Detroit News / December 7, 2023
