Mikal Bridges and Cam Thomas tonight:
15/37 FG (40.5%)
1/9 from three (11.1%)
Both had a clutch bucket down the stretch, but the Nets need better from those two to beat a team like Denver. – 9:59 PM

What a twist. The Pistons are now so bad that they’re must watch TV. As they approach the all-time record, every game for their opponent is a must-win.
For HC Monty Williams, this is only Year 1 of what was a record breaking 6-year/$78.5M deal (8-years/$100M with incentives). – 10:52 PM

The Ironman thing is great and all but maybe Mikal Bridges needs a game off. Some sort of rest. Hasn’t looked like himself and it’s hurting the team. – 11:07 PM

Asked Cam Johnson about Mikal Bridges’ recent struggles and how he has approached similar cold stretches in the past:
“Keep shooting and don’t listen to other people. That’s it. People say all types of stuff, don’t listen to them. Focus on what you do and believe in yourself. At… – 10:44 PM

The Nets have now lost four games in a row after winning six of eight from Nov. 25 to Dec. 8. Knicks blew them out 121-102 at home.
Mikal Bridges went 4/21 from the field in the loss, which was easily his worst shooting performance of the season. – 9:53 PM

Mikal Bridges had a wide-open corner three to cut the Knicks lead to six with 1:30 remaining. He missed and Julius Randle scored on the other end to push it to 11.

First Mitchell Robinson. Then Jericho Sims. Now it’s Isaiah Hartenstein who’s being looked at after taking a shot to the face on a Mikal Bridges drive to the rim.

More on this storyline

From a team standpoint, Bridges noted the Nets need to “go out there and set the tone offensively and defensively, just start strong and be physical from the jump.” Rediscovering his shooting touch will come from that collective effort, he believes. “I feel like I’m just missing good looks,” Bridges said. “I’m getting to spots. The ones I’m missing, I’m getting there. Other ones, it goes as a miss, where I think I’m getting fouled. -via New York Post / December 21, 2023
Bridges is shooting just 33.3 percent over his past four games, and took Monday’s loss hard. “As far as missing shots, just did everything bad [Monday]: Missing shots, free throws, not defending, not rebounding. Just a bad one,” Bridges said. “Pretty much just out there and letting my teammates down, coaches down, playing five-on-four out there basically while I’m out there. So I just gotta be better and I won’t let that happen again.” -via New York Post / December 19, 2023
