Re: Gary Rowett’s move for Morrison rejected
If you can name the standard "two-fer" positions of that standard 24-man squad - i.e., where we had four players of proper Championship quality, with watertight experience, vying for said two spots -that we had and/or were able to fill on the budget (which, I repeat. was never declared in the press and seemed to be utterly changeable week-by-week), I'd be thrilled.
Sometimes you have to cut your cloth (and thus, corners) accordingly. He seemed to want to try and priortise at-least-faintly creative or attacking players - Fabbrini, Brock-Madsen, Stewart - which, from what I read on here, was his outright greatest failing. Bah. Nuance, eh?
Our budget was comparable to the very lower echelons of that league and, considering the league placings achieved, he performed admirably.
Zola spent nearly £10 million in half an hour and, as far as I can see, got N'Sue as anything useable. Gardner might perk up a bit, I suppose.
Get real.
