Re: Rumour: This is how much Birmingham City will have to pay John Terry

Small Heath Alliance

Let him have his little moment, he's clueless on football and obviously we've hit a nerve.
A small club like us can't have the same ambition as the mighty Villa, no way can we be linked with the same players as them?
History is a great thing but you can't go forward if you're always looking back, no matter how poor we are as a team our moto has always been forward & keep right on and that we shall.

Redknapp confirms John Terry offer

Small Heath Alliance

Blues manager Harry Redknapp has this morning confirmed to TalkSport that he has met with representatives of John Terry in London and "had a chat". The former England and Chelsea captain is available on a free transfer after his 22 year Chelsea career came to an end when the season finished. How hav

Big money being splashed around over the next couple of months.
Interest in signing John Terry.
'Arry telling the board he needs a number of new signings.
Long term planning being booted out in favour of chucking the sink at going up this season

Is it okay to be a bit scared about what happens if we don't go up, given our recent history of financial armageddon, 5k a week pay caps, not being able to afford transfer fees etc, and our current managers past record of leaving clubs in unfavourable circumstances?

Take your points as they worry me somewhat as well.

If things do go sour, you'd have to blame the board for investing money they couldn't.

That said, Terry's been offered 90k a week + appearance fees and bonuses. Let's assume, worst case scenario, he plays every game, keep 20 cleansheets and it works out at £100k a week.

Over the season, that's £5.2m for one of the most experienced, highly decorated players in world football (arguably history).

Taking into consideration the extra season ticket sales... Читать дальше...

Stockdale is a brilliant signing
Terry as a proper Blue would be astonishing
Signing an experienced prem/championship goal poacher and an influential midfield general would be jizztastic.
If the owner is prepared to invest in them nobody will argue ....
But that guarantees naff all.....and if we subsequently missed out on promotion we'd then be on potentially dangerous ground.

I'd be just happy for us to build a younger, hungrier Blue Machine.

don't we have a backup/failover site, heavy resilience to ensure uninterrupted service at all times, patching, upgrades etc, similar to BA ?

oh, hang on a sec.......

Re: John Terry gets ‘good offer’ from Harry Redknapp to join Birmingham City

Small Heath Alliance

Anyone who says this is a bad move financially needs to think about it like this:

The offer is 90k plus appearance fees etc. so let's just assume it's a nice round 100k a week.

On a 1 year deal, that's £5.2m for the best centre half in the league.

Taking into consideration the extra season ticket sales that would also boost performances, the boost to the players already at the club, the shirt sales and the draw for our other transfer targets, £5.2m for on the of most experiences... Читать дальше...
