It's long been thought that the problem with English football was that not enough youngsters were getting chances to break through to Premier League first teams.

This may be part of the issue, but I started to wonder what else could be causing our national team to look so devoid of ideas and unable to adapt to different circumstances and styles of football.

There has been lots of discussion about who we should get rid of but will anybody buy our players? In my opinion realistically the only player who could command a fee and we may look to sell is David Davis.

We can say get rid, get rid but who are going to buy? Realistically most of our average players will leave in the summer when they are out of contract.
