Next Watford manager (13 replies)

I've never heard of this bloke and he doesn't seem to have done anything of note, the Watford fans seem quite pleased though.

I think this one may actually see the season out...although I wouldn't like to bet on him making it through Autumn as well.

Re: Signing: Ivan Sanchez

Hopefully somebody will be able to confirm, but just seen on twitter that apparently the playoff Semi Final between Elche and Zaragoza will be streamed on YouTube at 9pm later.

So a decent chance to watch Ivan Sanchez live ????

Atalanta vs PSG (11 replies)

PSG being made to look very ordinary here. Perennial bottlers in Europe. Atalanta look properly decent.

And also how utterly shit the experience of playing at Stoke is. No wonder Butland has turned into Kingson.

Re: Jude

Commentator saying what a big impact Jude has already had in training despite only just turning 17.

Re: Jude impresses in pre-season friendly

Watched the game (for free) on the BVB youtube channel.

Quite remarkable to see how a 17 year old can go from sharing a midfield with Craig Gardner and lumping balls to Jukey (no offence meant to either honest lads) to playing in a commanding role in front of a back four for one of the top sides in Europe - and being trusted to do so by experienced players and his coach.

Sure it was only a half-speed half-cock friendly against a side at least a level below them, but the transformation in less than a month is stunning. Читать дальше...

Re: Wes Harding

If it's true then the timing sucks, we have a paper thin squad so selling a potential starting player to a relegation rival is madness. If we let him go having signed 10 credible players it becomes a different matter. I like Wes and would keep him over Dacres Cogley.

Maradona fly on the wall thing, Netflix (6 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Anyone watched it?
I'm on episode 3.
It's a bit like that Sunderland one, but it's about a struggling mexican club, managed by Diego Maradona.
The club just happens to be based in a city that is the hub of the country's drug industry.
It's really interesting, once you get over the subtitles.
I could see him managing Blues. Hes barking.

Re: Introducing the all-new Blues Store

Small Heath Alliance

Just made an aborted attempt to throw some money away on tat via the new website. It was going to be a modest purchase totalling £35 but at checkout it wanted to charge me £32 for postage. Sod that for a game of soldiers. The first thing I looked up was postage and it listed £12 postage outside of Europe, granted with a disclaimer for size and weight of parcel. I don’t believe car air fresheners, a key ring, a mug (yeah, I know) and a gnome are either that large or that heavy. Robbing bleeders.

Jim

What was the gist of her comments?

- an all-sports village is low on the list of priorities for competitors

- comfortable accommodation is essential

- good transport infrastructure to get them to their venues/training and back again is important

- separating out different sports groups to different locations could be an advantage. Eg swimmers invariably finish events and start a non-stop party in the village before... Читать дальше...

As a kid I can remember going on 3 with my Dad,Portsmouth, Bristol City & Newcastle....fond memories.Any others to share ? I remember playing bingo, the sing songs, the swearing was great as a kid !! Sweaty sandwiches and warm pop but the strongest memory was a brick coming through the window as we left Newcastle, thankfully the lads sat at that table playing cards had the blind pulled down so all the glass fell onto the tracks, rest of the journey back to New St.was spent under the table.....sh1ttin...
