After the last couple of results, I have finally changed my position. I do believe Karanka's position is now untenable. However the issues run deeper than the manager, and I'd like to discuss the bigger picture in this blog. Firstly I want to thank SouthernBlue on Small Heath Alliance. He Read More

Birmingham City slipped into the bottom three with Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth - but this man faced the criticism
It is clear that none of us saw Karankas plan.... project slingshot, having watched channel 9 news it is obvious, we get relegated so we can win the Johnsons paint trophy get promoted and with the impetus we get a second promotion to the Premiership using our slingshot energy.
You are the master of looking back at old threads, you have the knowledge, the memory or the keys to the cupboard...or something like that.
The way I remember it; when Karanka signed it was generally regarded as a good move by most on here. There were reservations but mostly SHA considered it be the case that we'd signed a better manager than expected and that for once Dong had done a good job. I know there was a fair bit of support for Cook (me included) but I think that was largely because... Читать дальше...
He was more than that. We’ve had our fair share of managers who were on the make and take as it is without wishing them back.
Birmingham City announced on Friday the creation of a strategic committee whose job would be to advise the board on the short-term and long-term strategy of the club. This came at the request of Birmingham Sports Holdings, who had confirmed that the committee would be appointed in announcements made

Asked not to ref this weekend due to death threats to his family.

I think that's an unintended consequence of attempting to make the game safer, or rather having to make the game safer.
It becomes less of a spectacle of course, but it also changes the way in which players try to gain an advantage. Now, there's a definite effort to scream as loudly as possible in order to try to convince the ref that the challenge was so bad that it has to be a certain red....or at least try to get him to consider it.
As the game evolves it'll get worse, not better imo.

I think morale was rock bottom when she joined and she's definitely done a magnificent job in galvanising the team - they looked odds on for relegation. Seen her interviewed on TV as well, very articulate.
Could she manage the men's team? Probably - the big question would be the players attitude towards her, could she stamp any authority?
Harry Redknapp has taken an advisory role at Birmingham City's Championship rivals after being approached by their caretaker manager

It’s quite staggering they have appointed Woodgate as caretaker, this is less surprising given that.
I’m sorry to say this but our friends from across the expressway got there act together as a team on and off the pitch. After there lost to Leicester they locked themselves away at the Belfrey hotel, managers, coaches players for team bonding and a all together mentality.
COME ON BLUES BEFOR ITS TO LATE TO ACT.

I think Karanka will hammer home the need for better positioning from the centre halves. No chance we will be caught out the same way we were against Bournemouth.
Just fingers crossed he perseveres with that system. It was bloody fun to watch.
Vaughan's comment about England not being able to come back from not winning the first game of the series was typical Vaughan cobblers though to be fair.
Otherwise I agree.
England had the game to absolutely dictate today. It was always unlikely that they would enforce the follow-on, unless India got absolutely skittled of course and the deficit on first innings was 400.
The seamers hadn't been overbowled, Bess had bowled well and Leach had come back well from getting Panted by Pant. Читать дальше...

I re-watched the drama again a couple of weeks ago. I still think it's one of the best things I've seen on tv for ages.
There was an interesting documentary on Sky last night "The Real Chernobyl." Well worth a watch, they talked to people who were involved / affected by the disaster. I found it quite moving listening to the immense impact it had.
Bamford 25/1 on sky to score a header. Can't see it being that price come kick off. Only 9's on Parry Power
