Do we want Deeney back? (23 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Is it a coincidence that our first in 6 in the league was without Deeney?

Juke looks a much more potent goal threat recently.

We have Juke and Hogan under contract for next year, I don't think extending Deeney is good for the club.

Keep Cosgrove instead, he'd probably score the same number of goals.

Of course. Jukes best days are long gone. Wouldn’t argue otherwise. Nor have I.

As I said a moment a go, have look at how many goals hogan has for us. It’s comparable to the likes of the fors. When he was fitter and pressing earlier in the season, he got us 20 yards up the pitch

I think he’s grossly underrated

I like Troy but he’s not the best forward, he’s got 3 goals from open play this season.

He does a good job with Hogan, and the deeper role has... Читать дальше...

New Stadium (56 replies)

Seen a lot of talk about a possible new stadium on Twitter over the weekend.

Obviously, that is a million miles away as things stand, but what are peoples thoughts on the matter, if the time ever was to come where those discussions could be seriously had?

I’ve always been 100% stay and redevelop St Andrews, largely due to the fear of it being moved to somewhere outside the city such as the NEC and always thinning it would be typical blues to wait for the area to finally be regenerated, only then to move elsewhere! Читать дальше...

AFAIK it's the same deal as Maxco were going to get 21% of shares, it's not a takeover it's an investment, BSHL are playing a blinder with people, getting millions to look at books, knowing that they will still be majority owners of the club, until its an 100% takeover lock stock and barrel, it's nowhere near a takeover

OPL don't want 21%. They want 100%. The article clearly states that the takeover is in two halves - 21% first then the rest. The holdup is that... Читать дальше...

(Legal) advice - Car repair (7 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Evening all,

I don't normally post stuff like this but I'm looking for some advice/opinions on where to go from here.

I'm in the process of restoring a classic car. I removed the engine and gearbox both to be rebuilt. The gearbox went to 'Garage A' and the engine went to 'Garage B'

So, in July 2021 I supplied 'Garage A' with the gearbox, a special uprated rebuild kit and the oil. They took the casing apart and sent me pictures of the internals, all were fine no damage etc. Читать дальше...

that's the issue to get an opinion will cost - I have a legal case that to me is cast iron worth about £10k to me. However solicitor has said to get a legal opinion will cost £3k that is just to be told what sort of chance i have.

I am glad you have reminded me though as i had forgotten about it with one thing and another and need to speak to a no win no fee company.

As Rags says Small claims ct is relatively cheap but you have the stress and hassle of dealing with it

Mortgage offer variance (4 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

My lad is looking to take out a mortgage. He has contacted a few building society some banks. For some reason NatWest will offer £50,000 more than the others this seems a bit of a big variance.
He has given the same information to all of them.
Nat West must particularly generous with their offers. I thought a broker might be his best bet but not sure if they have bad reputations these days

Re: Mortgage offer variance

Go to a whole of market broker, don't go to the high street banks directly - If they ask for a fee this can normally be negotiated.

a million million miles away from there being any such thing as ghosts .. ie the physical manifestation in a recognisable form of people who are dead.

As I said, that's if that's what ghosts are. What people see as ghosts may not be that.

Also bear in mind what we are beginning to theorise about time not necessarily being a linear form and that everything can exist everywhere at once perhaps meaning a ghost could just be a vision of the past overlaid onto our current perception. Читать дальше...

1,600 people dead in Turkey due to an earthquake (and counting).

As much as we moan abouth the weather here we are so lucky that we get none of the extremes that many other countries do

Earthquakes
Monsoon season
Massive floods
Tornados
Famine
Hurricanes
Extreme temperatures (both hot and cold)

Maybe we have a "Good things about the UK" thread to cheer ourselves

I'll start with a few .. (no-one's saying everything's perfect... Читать дальше...
