I would raise a formal complaint - they will ignore it, then escalate that complaint, they will ignore that too - then you can go to OFGEM see what they say. Make sure you ask for the complaints procedure, as it is an issue if they don't provide that when asked.
But if you used the energy you are liable for the bill unfortunately IMO.
