The Switch has only been out for a couple of days, but the left Joy-Con controller on the new console is already infamous for random connectivity issues. And while Nintendo has recommended a fix that users try and avoid having obstacles between the controller and the console, others have opted to just crack open the Joy-Con and break out some soldering gear to find a more permanent fix.

This is Sedric, Volkswagen’s newest concept for the future of autonomous driving. Sedric (as in self-driving car, get it?) is fully autonomous, meaning it has no steering wheel or pedals, and it can be summoned at the push of a button for ride-hailing trips, a la Uber and Lyft.

With a pending sale of its internet business to Verizon, Yahoo is undergoing one of the more tumultuous periods in its history. Yet somehow it still managed to put out one of the most useful piece of software it’s created in years. Called Captain, the product is an SMS-based digital assistant. It’s designed to use some lightweight artificial intelligence to help family members manage each other’s busy schedules.

The Moar is a new bike launching through an Indiegogo campaign from first-time company Moar Bikes. It’s an electric bicycle, albeit one with an angled frame and fat, 24-inch tires that bring to mind an underpowered motorcycle more than a traditional pedal bike.

Sony’s bringing picture-in-picture mode to the streaming TV era. Today the company announced a new “multi-view” feature — launching first on PS4 — that allows PlayStation Vue subscribers to watch up to three TV channels on-screen simultaneously.

If you purchased a Nintendo Switch this weekend, odds are you’ve begun charting a path through The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s beautiful. It’s thoughtful. It’s very, very long. Should you need a break from the bucolic, I recommend Fast RMX, a racing game that borrows shrewdly from Wipeout, F-Zero, and Hydro Thunder.

Google’s Play Store was first released five years ago today, on March 6th, 2012. To celebrate, Google released a roundup of the best selling apps, games, movies, music, and books in the US since its launch.

It turns out that the latest version of Hyrule is grounded in the modern day. According to Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director of the just-released Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, while the game’s map may take players to an exciting fantasy realm filled with monsters and magic, it was actually based in part on his hometown of Kyoto, Japan.

Early on in Logan, an olden, beaten-down Wolverine comes across a pile of vintage X-Men comics, dismissing the stories as hyperbolic at best and fabricated at worst. The comics are more than a throwaway gag, though: they propel some of the film’s plot and its questions about heroism and the mythologizing of the past. That is to say, any random Uncanny X-Men comic wouldn’t have worked.

If you haven’t been paying attention to the PC world lately, you might not have noticed that the lowly PC has seen a bit of a resurgence, with interesting designs and unique concepts. We saw this come to bear at CES just a couple of months ago, where PC makers such as Dell, Lenovo, and HP all trotted out interesting laptop designs.

Two weeks ago, on its fourth quarter earnings call, analysts grilled Fitbit about its product release cycle and wondered whether Fitbit would be putting out a new fitness tracker this spring, just like it did last year. Turns out Fitbit did have something up its sleeve — but it’s less of a “new” product and more an update to an old one.

Wednesday is the “Day Without a Woman” strike, and all across the country women are gearing up to not show up for work. Here at The Verge, we are ready to have no science section, no social media team, no copy editor, half of our news editors, half of our reporters, and basically no video team. If you picked up Nintendo’s new Switch console this weekend, you’ll be glad to learn that the Joy-Con controllers work well on a Mac, Windows PC, or Android device. French Nintendo fan site Nintendo Actu has been experimenting with Joy-Cons on Windows and Android devices, and software engineer Sam Williams has discovered Nintendo’s controllers also work on macOS.

This week's big events include the Geneva Motor Show, SXSW, Google Cloud Next, and PAX East. It's also expected to be a week punctuated by social protest.

Samsung is planning to launch its Galaxy S8 handset on March 29th, but we’ve already seen photos, videos, and even press images leak ahead of its debut. A fresh round of hands-on images have leaked today, and they give us a slightly better look at some big design changes Samsung is making to its 2017 flagship smartphone.

General Motors has agreed to sell its European business in deals worth $2.3 billion. Peugeot SA will acquire General Motors’ Opel and Vauxhall brands for $1.4 billion, while General Motors’ European financial operations will be jointly acquired by Peugeot and BNP Paribas SA for around $955 million. The Wall Street Journal reports that the deal is expected to close by the end of the year, and it will increase Peugeot’s share of the European car market to make it Europe’s second biggest car maker behind Volkswagen. Exposure to environmental pollutants kills 1.7 million children under the age of five each year, according to two reports released on Monday by the World Health Organization (WHO). Worldwide, more than one in four deaths among children under the age of five are attributable to environmental hazards such as indoor and outdoor air pollution, contaminated water, and poor sanitation, the WHO reports.

Nintendo, we should try to remember, is a vast international corporation that wants nothing more than to liberate your hard-earned money from your wallet. But hell, if it isn't just slightly more endearing than its competitors. It's cute little touches like the secret message discovered this weekend hidden inside the Switch's Pro Controller — tiny text that reads "thx2 allgamefans!" — that keeps Nintendo cemented in the hearts of "allgamefans!" everywhere.

Social care startup Cera has partnered with some of the UK's biggest hospitals in a bid to become something similar to an Uber for patients who need carers. The deal will help doctors in London select and request assistance from a pool of trained carers who can help patients with tasks at home, potentially freeing up hospital beds for additional people. You’d think that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has enough on his plate. But not only does the billionaire businessman want to build lots electric cars and send humans around the moon, he also wants to build tunnels because, he says, “without tunnels, we will all be in traffic hell forever.”

Yesterday, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to allege that President Barack Obama had ordered a wiretap on Trump Tower during the final weeks of the 2016 Presidential Campaign. This weekend, FBI director James Comey asked the Justice Department to publicly rebuke those allegations, arguing that they are “false and must be corrected”.
