Samsung is releasing unlocked models of its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones, according to a Best Buy listing that the retailer has confirmed to The Verge as accurate. Preorders begin May 9th, strongly hinting at an earlier release date than unlocked versions of Galaxy S flagships have typically seen in recent years. With the S7 and S7 Edge, the unlocked models weren’t released until June — three months after the devices first launched at US carriers.

Uber released an enlightening list of items left to die in its drivers’ vehicles, which is dubbed The Uber Lost & Found Index. The most common lost items spell out a disaster of a Friday night, with stuff like phones, keys, wallets, IDs, chargers, and purses. And then there’s the real good stuff people have left behind, from their meat packets to their poor unloved “Nintendos.”

Lyft Shuttle is the ride-hailing industry’s latest product to mimic the fixed routes and flat fares of a city bus service. The new feature, which is being tested out in San Francisco and Chicago, is an extension of Lyft’s carpool service, Lyft Line.

Buried in the spec sheet for Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones is a wonderful bit of information: the new phones will be the first on the market with Bluetooth 5.0. The new wireless protocol should offer some great benefits over the latest standard, Bluetooth 4.2, which was released in December 2014.

Amazon has approved two motorsports TV shows for its Prime Video platform, one following the McLaren Formula One team across the 2017 season, and the other covering the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans race in June.

This week, Grindr launched Into, an online magazine that marks the app’s first step into digital publishing, Dazed reports. The content will be partly user-generated, according to Dazed, and will live alongside work by more established artists, like photographers Michael Bailey Gates and Ren Hang. The current homepage includes short posts about music videos, a guide to escaping a bad date, haircut ideas, and a video about living as a gay man in the 1980s.

Microsoft is rolling out some big changes to the Xbox One today. The biggest additions are the new dashboard and Xbox Guide and the integration of Microsoft’s new Beam streaming service.

Microsoft is making its Surface Studio all-in-one PC available outside the US for the first time on April 20th. Starting today, the Surface Studio and Surface Dial will both be available to preorder in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Microsoft says the devices will be available to purchase in these markets on April 20th. Unusually, no European markets have been included in Microsoft’s first expansion of the Surface Studio.

Microsoft is planning to distribute its free Windows 10 Creators Update on April 11th. The update will start rolling out to machines during the next Patch Tuesday, and Microsoft plans to release it gradually to existing devices. If you don’t want to wait a couple of weeks, Microsoft is already hosting download images of the final Windows 10 Creators Update build (15063).

Samsung is finally taking the wraps of the Galaxy S8 later today in New York, but we’ve still got time to squeeze in a few more leaks. Like, for example, the phone’s user guide. Yep, the whole document got posted online earlier at Samsung’s download center (the link’s here, but it’s locked away behind a password now). Phandroid caught it before it got sealed up, and although there aren’t many surprises, it’s still a good overview of what the S8 will be offering.

Ultimate Ears has a new entry level speaker in its lineup: the $99 UE Wonderboom, and it’s an adorable little fellow that replaces the UE Roll as the cheapest Ultimate Ears speaker.

Donald Trump seems to have finally traded in his old and unsecured Android phone — for a new iPhone. White House director of social media Dan Scavino Jr. tweeted tonight that Trump had switched to the Apple device, saying that he had been using it for "the past couple of weeks," and confirming that Twitter messages marked as coming from an iPhone were indeed from the president himself.

Donald Trump’s tweets seem to provide some catharsis for the man himself, allowing him to work out some anger at Hillary Clinton, leakers inside his own administration, and FAKE NEWS. But each one is also an opportunity for his opponents to work out their own frustrations, quoting and replying to his messages with their own sick burns.

LG has to be hoping that come tomorrow, its brand new G6 smartphone won’t be immediately overshadowed in the minds of consumers by Samsung’s Galaxy S8. The two phones are similar in that they’re both all screen with a tiny surrounding bezel. Each has its own advantages; in the case of LG, that’s really the wide-angle camera lens on the back (and a flat display, if you’re a traditionalist like me).
