Set to face LeBron James for the first time since last season’s Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers playoff series, Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks is remaining confident about the matchup. When asked about James, Brooks told reporters, “Ready to lock him up. He’s been shooting the ball well, he’s been playing well, so just there to make him tired, make him get into that 4th quarter early.”

The Los Angeles Lakers contacted the NBA league office Tuesday about what they view as numerous missed foul calls in Monday’s 108-107 loss to the Miami Heat, sources told ESPN. The Lakers’ main point of contention is how LeBron James was officiated, according to sources. The Lakers shared various clips showing what they believe to be clear illegal contact by Heat defenders against James that went unnoticed by the referees.

The Knicks chatter is inescapable but, like everybody else around the NBA, Joel Embiid’s former teammate doesn’t know if the reigning MVP will end up in New York. “Of course, he hears it,” Clippers forward PJ Tucker said Monday. “But you never know with these situations and how it’s going to play out, what guys are thinking, what’s happening behind closed doors. You never know.”

Tucker said he texted Embiid after the deal and believes — though can’t say for certain — that the franchise star was also blindsided. “I wasn’t expecting to get traded, so I didn’t know. The most questionable technical of the night, though, was given to LeBron James. After the game, LeBron stated that his delay of game technical, again given out by Williams, was because he threw the ball to the sideline. The video does not support the officials’ claim. “The explanations of what they’re telling me is not consistent with what’s actually happening on the floor,” LeBron said. “When I went for the dunk attempt against Thomas Bryant, he clearly (had) his arm straight across my face.
