Welcome to the first edition of our 2023-24 MVP rankings. The season is just about 15 games old for every team so we have a solid enough sample size to start making some proclamations and educated guesses at this point.

Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: The Memphis Grizzlies plan to sign guards Shaquille Harrison and Jaylen Nowell with two newly awarded hardship 10-day contracts. The NBA approved the hardship roster spots after Memphis had five injured players ruled out over the next two-plus weeks.

Does this team need a shakeup? Alex Caruso: I don’t know. A “shakeup” is so general, too. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards believes he can become the first athlete to play in both the NBA and NFL. In a recent conversation with comedian Marco Summers on his talk show “Open Thoughts,” Summers asked the All-Star guard if he could still play football and if there’s ever been a player to play in both leagues. With confidence, Edwards replied to Summers: “I think I might be the first one.”
