Suns went 13-for-22 from the FT line in a game they lost by 3. Led by 8 with just under 6 minutes to play too. Would be a hell of a Finals rematch adding KD and Giannis to that equation – 3:43 PM

Of course it is Jae Crowder making shots to lead a Bucks comeback here late in the fourth quarter.
Fun finish ahead for the Bucks and Suns, who are tied at 96 with just over 3 to go with both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant watching in street clothes. – 3:23 PM

Craig or Okogie 5th starter?
Craig 10 boards at half (6 offensive). Extra possessions.
No Giannis, but with Booker, Paul and Durant, extra possessions huge. Shot 1-of-7, but will take less shots with Durant.
Okogie better scorer, 9 points, 6 boards at half.
Thoughts? #Suns2:39 PM

I asked Ham what his first thought was when Mavs acquired Irving. He says it was similar to thoughts of Phoenix acquiring Durant, making matchups more difficult.
“But they’ve got to guard us, too,” Ham says of Mavs and other West foes. – 2:11 PM

When looking a possible 10-man rotation when Durant plays:
Got 2nd unit of Payne, Lee, Ross, Landale and either Craig or Okogie. You’d think Craig or Okogie will start.
Monty Williams has talked about a 9-1/2 man rotation. Out of those six, who doesn’t play? #Suns #Bucks1:37 PM

.@CassidyHubbarth reporting pregame that Kevin Durant is in his “final ramp-up phase.” Suns will fly right to Charlotte after the game today and then will have tomorrow and Tuesday to get more practice and 5-on-5 time in for KD. – 1:05 PM

No Durant.
No Antetokounmpo.
And then you wonder why NBA TV ratings are in the dumpster. – 1:05 PM

More on this storyline

Derrick Rose insisted he hasn’t had any discussions with the Knicks about a buyout, though Kevin Durant’s new team reportedly is monitoring the guard’s availability. The former NBA MVP was identified as a “primary candidate” to join the Suns if the remainder of his contract is bought out by the Knicks, according to Bleacher Report. “No, I haven’t talked to anybody about that. I haven’t talked to anyone,” Rose said Saturday, before the Knicks beat the Pelicans 128-106, when asked if he had considered seeking a buyout. “I haven’t even thought about it. I’m locked in to my thing right now. It’s kind of hard to think about something that I’ve never pursued and never talked about with them.” -via New York Post / February 26, 2023
Rose, who is making $14.5 million this season with a club option for the 2023-24 season worth $15.6 milliona, said he had no dialogue with team president Leon Rose about receiving a chance to play elsewhere ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline or about a buyout after it passed. “No. Y’all heard something? I’ve just been locked in, doing my recovery. [I] talk to Thibs about the team, talk to Leon about the team, but other than that, I haven’t talked to them about [a buyout],” Rose said. “I think that we’ve been so transparent in the past that if I was thinking about moving, or they was to move me somewhere, they’d give me a heads up.” -via New York Post / February 26, 2023
“So I wasn’t worried at the trade deadline. Normally guys get a little bit of anxiety and all that type of stuff. But that wasn’t something that I worried about.”
Rose said family considerations — for instance, his son plays for the Gauchos AAU team in Manhattan — would make it difficult for him to leave New York. “Exactly. He loves it over here. I’d probably have to talk it over with him, even before Thibs,” Rose joked. -via New York Post / February 26, 2023
