More on this storyline

“I think Magic and Larry also changed the game in a very unique way,” Gasol said. Gasol went on to explain why he chose Jordan, who won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, and Bryant, who won two of his five championships with Gasol as a teammate. “I think Michael and Kobe had a huge influence on the game,” Gasol said. “They are two of my favorites as well.” -via Los Angeles Times / August 12, 2023
Yes, that’s 11, Gasol was told. He just shrugged and smiled. Then he offered his perspective on why he chose this group. He started with Abdul-Jabbar, who won five of his six NBA championships with the Lakers and was a six-time league most valuable player, and Russell, who won 11 NBA championships with the Boston Celtics. “They were two very, very special players,” Gasol said. “I think they stood out from the rest during their time.” -via Los Angeles Times / August 12, 2023

The Lakers guard also shared that the team is very professional about how it goes about things because of the influence from four-time champion LeBron James. “Our team is very professional,” Reaves said. “When you got a guy like ‘Bron, I don’t think you can be unprofessional because he’s been professional for that long.” James, Reaves and the Lakers are hoping that they can take a step in the 2023-24 season after making the Western Conference Finals last season. -via Lakers Daily / August 12, 2023
Los Angeles Lakers star  LeBron James absolutely loved Kwazi Gilmer’s creative way to announce his commitment to UCLA football. For those who missed it, the four-star wide receiver recreated LeBron’s iconic Nike commercial to reveal his decision to go to UCLA football. Of course it quickly went viral, especially since Gilmer did a really great job pulling off the remake of the popular ad. After seeing the video, LeBron himself reacted to it and showed plenty of love to Gilmer. He reposted the clip on his Instagram Story and wrote, “That’s so cool and [fire]. [Salute] Kwazi and congrats kid!!!” -via Clutch Points / August 12, 2023
