Watching De’Aaron Fox now reminds me a lot of watching the peak version of John Wall. The athleticism, the physical dominance, the relentless attacking, the vision, the ability to dominate short patches of the game, it’s all there. Plus, the shooting is even better. – 1:06 PM

In previous seasons, going under screens set for Fox was acceptable and even encouraged. But this season, the 2023 All-NBA selection is shooting 38 percent from behind the arc, and his newfound 3-ball efficiency is opening up the floor for him to get even better looks. “That’s the difference with Fox,” longtime former coach Doc Rivers said on the ESPN broadcast. “If you remember his first three or four years, ‘Go under, go under’ (the screen). But you can’t go under anymore on him.” -via The Athletic / November 19, 2023
Fox is a 32.3 percent shooter from deep on 3.9 attempts per game for his career. It’s early, but the aforementioned 38 percent, 8.3 attempts and 3.2 makes from distance per game would be career-high marks for the All-Star. He led Sacramento to its fifth-straight win Friday, posting a season-high 43 points — one away from tying his career high — to go along with eight rebounds, seven assists, a block and a steal on 5-of-11 shooting from 3 and 14-of-24 shooting from the field en route to a 129-120 victory over San Antonio. Last season, Fox had four games making five or more 3-pointers. He’s only played six games this season and has already notched two such games. -via The Athletic / November 19, 2023
Near the end of New York’s 120-99 breeze Friday night over the Wizards, the fans at Capitol One Arena, filling the occupied seats with blue and orange jerseys, erupted in a “Let’s Go Knicks” chant. It was the loudest chant of the night in the half-empty arena, and it picked up again with about a minute remaining in the blowout. “Probably one of the coolest feelings no matter what level you’re at when you’re in someone’s home arena and hear your fans cheering really loud,” Jalen Brunson said. “It’s really cool.” -via New York Post / November 18, 2023
Grimes immediately grabbed his left wrist and bee-lined to the locker room in obvious pain. He wasn’t available to the media after the Knicks (6-5) toppled the Hawks, 116-114. “It’s very tough and that’s unfortunate, but we have a next-man-up mentality,” Jalen Brunson said Thursday. “Guys step up but as a team we had to step up together. We have a lot of great players on this team that can do a lot of great things. Obviously we want Quentin to come back when he’s healthy, when he’s ready, whatever goes on, but I think for us we all know what we have to do.” -via New York Post / November 17, 2023
