What’s the buzz on Twitter?

Asked Pat Connaughton this morning about how #Bucks felt about Jrue Holiday landing on the #Celtics: “I’m happy for him in the sense of, I want him to continue to compete for championships … being a kid who grew up in Boston, 10 year old Pat would’ve loved Jrue as a Celtic.” pic.twitter.com/RPs5ru3EzE2:16 PM

Jrue Holiday downplayed going up against his old team in the Bucks tonight: “It’s not like I circled this one on my calendar or anything. I think this is a big game because of the two teams that are playing.” More here:

“It’s more personal…He was a guy that was a good friend to a lot of people. A brother in so many ways to different people. So to see him on the other side is definitely going to be weird.” – Khris Middleton on seeing Jrue Holiday in Boston today.⬇

The remaining #Bucks from the championship season look forward to an “awkward” and “weird” reunion with Jrue Holiday in Boston – and there’s some emotion in there, too.
“I miss him very much.”

More on this storyline

Here’s everything the Celtics guard said about playing the Bucks: On any extra motivation playing the Bucks… “I think as motivated as any other game. Obviously this is one of the top teams in the East. Just kind of see where we test out and see how it goes.” -via Booth Newspapers / November 22, 2023
On if he views the Bucks trade differently since more time has passed… “I think it’s been about the same once I got traded. You know business is business. From a business standpoint, I’m in a very good position to be where I want to be — and that’s win a championship. Again, still happy to be here. None of that has ever changed. So, yeah. I don’t think anything has changed.” On reflecting on his Milwaukee days… “It was a good time. I won a championship. Made some friends, made some family members. Yeah, it’ll always have a place in my heart.” -via Booth Newspapers / November 22, 2023
With Jrue Holiday now in the fold, the Celtics had six starting-quality players — and only five spots to put them in, meaning one of them wouldn’t be introduced as a starter, and one would be sitting on the pine in the closing minutes of games. Both topics quickly were injected into the bloodstream in Boston, with plenty of fans and those in the media opining about how it should go. But rather than letting it fester, and allowing one of the league’s biggest unanswered questions to spiral into a narrative, Jayson Tatum gathered his five teammates in a room at the team’s practice facility — without any coaches, or anyone else. He wanted to address the obvious elephant in the room. “I wanted us to get in the room and talk about it,” Tatum told ESPN. “We all are human and have feelings, and I opened the floor and basically said, ‘There’s six of us. Only five can play at one time. One of us is not going to finish the game all the time. “Whether it’s fair or not, me and JB are probably going to always start, and always finish the game. But we have to be held to a different standard and be able to be coached differently. Whether it’s KP and Al, one of you guys may not finish a game, and you have to be OK with that.” -via ESPN / November 22, 2023
