Alex Caruso addresses Bulls trade rumors
Does this team need a shakeup? Alex Caruso: I don’t know. A “shakeup” is so general, too. Like I said, if we win those couple of close games early in the year, who knows how we feel about this and what the questions are that we’re even talking about right now. So a shakeup, I don’t know. Kind of like you said, you kind of got to be an internal optimist with professional sports, especially basketball. You play so many games. And we’re not even 20 percent of the way through the season. I don’t know if shakeup is the right word for it. But definitely just some changes to our daily routine and changes to our daily habits. Like I said, consistency’s been something we’ve talked about. We have to change that from within.

Zach LaVine has been vocal about his frustration. What impact has his desires had on the team, and what’s been your role in trying to keep him focused on the day-to-day goals? Alex Caruso: Zach’s been the same teammate that I think he’s been since I’ve been here. I don’t think any of this outside stuff, at least to me, it doesn’t seem like it’s affected us too much. I think it’s more still about the product of basketball on the court that we’re really not meeting the mark. Your 3-point shooting is at a career high right now. What’s been working for you with that shot? Alex Caruso: Just trusting it. Somebody asked me in preseason, I think it was after one of those games I made like four 3s against Denver maybe. And it was one of those things where (the question) was, “Well, what are you going to do when the regular season starts?” I said, “The same thing.” I’m hunting the shots, catch-and-shoots, that I know are going to be there for me coming off DeMar, coming off Zach, coming off guys getting downhill. And then since I’m shooting it well, I’m starting to hunt some other ones that I think I need to be aggressive or the team’s looking for a spark or something like that, too. -via The Athletic / November 23, 2023
