When I was young I was gutted we didn’t play the springboks, cos I wanted to see Barry Richards , Colin Bland and all those greats play agin us, however when I grew up a bit, I realised it was the right thing to do and that it actually helped end the horrors of apartheid!

Correct about the venue - what I can remember the sound was really crap because of the lack of acoustics.
Brilliant atmosphere though - went for a Bacon sarnie afterwards at the Rendezvous Café on Broad st
