I think my wife married me based on my dating phase performances, think she is wondering why I'm done after after five minutes these days.
One I doubt many would recall was David Linney who played for us once in the early eighties. I only remember him because he went to my school, bit younger than me.
Another around the same time was Ivor Linton, full back from Vile but he only played a handful of games for us.

Our first home game in the Premier, 2002 v Blackburn. I was sitting in the lower tier of seating in the Kop, near the Blackburn end when Jeff Kenna slid in to block a Blackburn counter attack down the right.
Saw the ball whizzing towards me, hands raised up in the rows in front, but Jeff had clearly picked me out from the crowd with a pass of stunning accuracy, perfectly aimed at my forehead. Just enquiring. If I can use Irish players then I would go with your team but replacing Zigic with Morrison and would have Kenna and Cunningham for Colin and Jiranek.

just to say I entirely agree with Micky Darrell's comment re Martin and Green.
Was it just cos we were younger then and so heroes to us...or did 'working men' back then have a different set of attitudes as to what it was to do a proper job?
Just thinking of blokes I know/knew who worked at the Austin and others who worked on freight barges up here in the north.

Cheers Doc. But I can't help feeling I might have let it slip from the other night. Might do a covid 19 watch like someone done a Leeds watch up Moseley a couple of years back. Trying to tell myself I'll be alright I'm one of those that have mild but shit symptoms. But I'm a smoker for the last 30 years, done what you do in 80's, 90's. Not fit quite stressed d due to missus having mental health problems. Not too bad really, down to relatives and upbringing.

Does anyone drink out of cans?
If so do you disinfect them. Just thinking got some from my local iffy and realised all those hands and fingers touching them to get to the cold ones at the back of the fridge. Same goes for wine I would expect.

ive just finished reading a really good book about ww2.
under an english heaven by robert radcliffe.
its about americans who manned b-17 bombers stationed in east angia and bombed the germans,they took some big loses.
its also about the local villagers and and thier interaction with the yanks.
ive never been interested in planes but when this is all over i fancy going to duxford to see a real b-17.
i would like to be able to go inside one and have a butchers around.

The sis is getting married in Turkey in June 2021 (if this has all calmed down obvs) and I’m looking at combining the trip with some visits to the above mentioned countries before heading down to the resorts in southern Turkey.
