Your player of the year? (45 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

No, it’s not a joke! Who would yours be?
Not Jude please, he walks the young player award, not JCS, he isn’t our player.
So who is yours? I know exactly who I would have, but won’t reveal just yet as It will cause widespread apoplexy !!
Over to you guys????

The last few games are clouding your judgement. For most of the season he’s either been crap or dropped

Our best performance in the Prem

Small Heath Alliance

Let's face it, great performances 2002-06 and then 2007/08 and 2009-11 were few and far between (not results, performances! Few nice results against Villa obviously)

What was the best? to people who went to a lot of games during the period.

I remember thinking it was a complete performance when we walloped Portsmouth in January 2006; Spurs in March 2008; and away at Liverpool in November 2009.

How times change. When I was in Brum a dry cleaner’s opening up in Stirchley would be a sign of progress

The Athletic (12 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Has a big long article on relegation contenders. We don’t get mentioned, apart from a reference to last years points deduction.

I know it means nothing, but it does show that it is only the amateur operatics brigade on here giving any serious thought to us going down.

The article also mentions rumours of a second club about to go into administration

The question of club finances has again been brought into sharp focus by Wigan Athletic going into administration.......

When Bacon Face gets sacked after losing to Man U in double figures, Terry will become Vile boss and make them even worse. Yesssssssdssss.

Ainsworth/Barton (7 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Watched some of the Wycombe v Fleetwood match

Impressed by both managers

Gareth Ainsworth has built a fantastic team spirit and really got a tune from a squad tipped for relegation. Comes across very well

Surprisingly Joey Barton did too, very dignified in defeat and tries to play football the right way

Maybe a marmite personality but he speaks his mind

Wouldn't mind either of them to be fair

Think a young, upcoming, hungry manager... Читать дальше...

Two months until next season? Is that “official”?

OT Barton?

Are we seriously suggesting Barton being associated with our club?

Joey Barton?

I am fairly certain that Dong doesn't want to be involved in the way he is.

Not what the common consensus seems to be from those in the know.
It's objective that he's at the training ground in his gear, that he has/had an office there and that he has some degree of control over playing matters.

I think the rest is speculation. Taking those facts and weaving an interesting story. We all do it.

But when I really think about it... Читать дальше...

Re: Bruno Lage

'On 29 June 2020, Lage made his position available after equalizing Benfica's worst ever series of results – 2 wins in 13 matches in the 2000–01 season – and establishing a record of 5 consecutive matches without a win at Estádio da Luz.'

Sounds fun.

God

Not sure if the final figure has been agreed yet, I thought I read recently that is was being questioned why the clubs getting promoted this year should have to pay their share.

I imagine it's down to the fact that the broadcasters will have lost out on 2 months subscription revenue with all the games being condensed into a month.

As far as on aware it's £8m per season for at least two seasons. Both relegated clubs and newly promoted clubs have to pay it. Читать дальше...
