Reading some of the threads, I was just wondering what it is that people feel he brings to the team over Sunjic and the class for this? I would even say Harper, as despite his bad game yesterday- IMO you can see Harper has far better attributes and brings more to the team.

In my opinion Gardener is not an overly good tackler and gives away needless fouls.
Lack of engine compared to a player like Sunjic.

I think there’s a good player in Sunjic & Harper but unless modern science finds away of morphing humans together, they’re both a bit crap.

Gardner is in good form and was key to our improved season under Monk. He should play.

Shame on McLeish for not playing Chucho more often

I hope recent results and performances have made him see pur best 11 in the one up top system he likes to play.

Valery, Friend, Clayton, McGree, MSJ and Leko haven't strengthened us at all and I'm afraid Juke's past his sell by date. l'd love to know whats going on with Cosgrove too.

Really hope last night was a blip, watched the whole 90 mins and its was awful, Harper did'nt even know how to kick the ball in the first half, hopefully we'll come up against a few other teams as bad as Uddersfield in which case we'll stay up no problem, but last night !!!!!

Did you see her recent documentary? She's bloody amazing, not only a great voice but she's so driven, clever, likeable and confident. Amazing person.

I know I'm on shaky ground here but when people talk about the best bands of the '80s or any British band category, they never seem to get a mention. Essentially a pop band with a pretty boy up front, I'm not sure they were ever taken seriously but now and then I can drop in and listen, as I am this morning. If nothing else they're definitely the best ever Geordie band with a teacher for a lead singer and an American drummer.

Madness have endured well - catchy songs and personality. They're a decent band and always have been, but I could never take them seriously in the early days of ska - they've always been a bit 'music hall' for me.

I'm a latecomer to Whisky / Whiskey and before the weekend I'd only tried Scotch, favourite so far Fire and Cane Glenfiddich. At the weekend feeling I needed to show some loyalty to my Irish roots I tried a Redbreast 12 year old Irish and loved it.

What's the common SHA consensus on Scotch v Irish? Any recommendations for my next bottle?

The uisce beatha thing is told a lot. Yet you don’t need the beatha. Surely whisky is just uisce. Similar to vodka being the diminutive of the Russian voda (water). Seems to be in imitation of aquavita.
