Your first 'legal' pint (48 replies)
Where did you have your first 'legal' pint, and is the pub still standing?
My first pint was in the Country Girl on the corner of Bridge Road/Anthony Road in Alum Rock. The pub is sadly no more.

The club I help run, Holly Lane United, are looking for coaches for new and current age groups as the club looks to expand. Ideally level 1 (min) already but if not, enthusiastic and willing to go on the level 1 course. The club will pay half towards the course then the other half once you have been with us for 1 year.

Another often trotted out line is 'this is the best squad we have had in a generation.' But on this occasion I firmly believe that is the case. Because the Rooney era was full of players more interested in their own ego's whereas I think this current crop are relatively humble and just want to succeed for England. Which brings me back to Southgate. He is another boring, cautious, unadventurous Manager in my view. Читать дальше...

What was the last gig you went to before lockdown and when ?
Who are you looking forward to seeing again ?
Mine was fairly late Saturday 14/3/20 - Stiff Little Fingers/ The Professionals / TV Smith.
SLF's normal support Band was Eddie and the Hot Rods, unfortunately the lead singer Barrie Masters
passed away in October 2019.
Just heard the very sad news that John Starkey, who most of you will know but maybe not by name, has passed away. John used to be the Birmingham City Disabled Liaison Officer. He then set up The Disabled Supporters Club.
RIP John. ????????

I've just had a letter from our council to say that our neighbours have issued a planning application to convert their attic and install a two tier dormer that stretches the full width of their house.
We only moved in to our terrace house a few months back and don't know them particularly well yet. We say hi and have a quick chin wag when we see them, but I must admit I'm quite surprised they didn't mention anything.
I've had a look at the plans and they would obstruct some morning sunlight in the summer. Читать дальше...
