To me growing up in the early 90’s, growing up we were all in the main Blues, and Kings Heath was a predominantly Blues area. It’s shocking to see the amount of Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea tops you see on kids now.

My old man is an old Small Heath/Yardley lad, so I’ll often go and meet him up there for a pint. Is Yardley our last stronghold or are there any bastions of Blues knocking about? For context I’m 36.

Acocks Green & Hall Green was definitely Blues.

What makes you doubt it? I think it's conceivable given his quality and that we weren't blessed with cash when we signed him. I could imagine a compromise had to be made.

It's the difficult reality of our situation. This season has felt rejuvenating but it's easy to forget a core group of players don't belong to us.

I agree with you but I think Ruddy has had the benefit of playing in front of a more confident and capable defence. I remember Etheridge being decent in the prem eg for Cardiff at least stopping shots. Isn't it a sign of a little progress that we have Ruddy (England 3rd keeper a short while back) and Etheridge on the bench, wages aside?

Remember the last couple of seasons when we've had loads of posts on here saying that three at the back with wing backs needed to be ditched as it would never work.
Well just shows that done right it does.

Hall looked comfortable in midfield in that game as well. I know everyone looks good in a 3-0 win but I've been impressed with what I've seen from him.

I know 2 are on loan but that has to be one of the strongest midfields we have had for a number of years.
