Bosman ruling killed Scottish clubs in continental football. Same as lots of clubs from the smaller countries. Suddenly Man Ure et al had the pick of Europe from which to choose, rather than only being able to pick 3-4 or whatever overseas players. Hey presto, it's all England/Italy/Spain/Germany/PSG. Not going to be popular but can't deny history. Mark Chamberlain for Stoke and monkey noises made but he was superb and if I remember correctly majority of our fans gave him a standing ovation. Worst was at Albion away with bananas thrown on pitch at Cyrille Regis. Very nearly jacked it in that night. Utter disgrace.
