Just wondering how people are going in ‘talks’ with their media providers and what sounds a deal.

Took the advice here and talked to Virgin. That’s what beats me. These companies are taking their customers for a ride and there seems no oversight of that. Why do long standing customers get worse deals than new ones (rhetorical)?

I'm going to Dortmund in April for a weekend and looking to catch a game out there. Does anyone know the best way to go about this? I had heard you can buy them directly through the website but it doesn't look as though tickets have even been released yet (or a date confirmed - perhaps Champions League dependent). Right i know we have some experts on here regarding houses so i need some advice for a family member. They've seen a house for £260,000 and ive told them to offer £230,000 first offer because the housing market is going down hill. Any advice. Btw House is in Great Barr.

There can be lots of variables in a house sale regardless of what’s going on in the ‘market’. The position of the seller can greatly influence the negotiation- eg just as an example, they might be after a quick sale because they’re not able to meet increased mortgage payments; or, on the other hand, they could be an elderly couple downsizing, who’ve got used to the value of their house rising over the last decades and may therefore be less open to quickly agreeing to offers below, or substantially below, tge asking price. Food provided by an employer can sometimes be interpreted by HMRC as a benefit in kind and therefore needs to be shown on a Form P11d.

But the HMRC normally take a pragmatic view that its just basic subsistence and don't tax it.

I do chuckle at a club with a squad of 25 pro football players on 10's of 1000's of £ per WEEK each and the club are so penny pinching they are trying to clawback the cost of a lunch!
