For 65 minutes we played some decent football, we pressed well, won the ball back and put pressure on them.

This continued after our goal.

It felt like the first few games of the season where we actually showed we had some talented players that could play football.

We have some decent players and with the right personnel we can be a competitive side - we looked so much better playing a no 10 in a 4-4-2 that was mobile and joining in play, Hogan is a luxury in more ways than one, and we cant accommodate his play in our side. I think we have finally found the formation that fits our players - oh to have had Bellingham in that role all season.

A decent manager could easily turn that squad into a competitive side.

Pederson, Roberts, Colin -if he regains form and cuts out his lapses, Gardener, Sunjic, Crowley, Bela - they are all good players at a championship level, Dean has his attributes as well as Juke.

So we need a gk, a centre back, a mobile no 10 type forward and possibly a jUke replacement no 9.

We have some decent money - bonus windfall from Jimmy and the Jude money - we can easily boost our squad with that money and some decent loans ala JCS

It all depends in getting the right manager but we really aren't that far from being a competitive squad, I know it doesn't seem like it because we did the inevitable and conceded three soft goals but I really believe a decent manager can breathe life into this squad and with the right purchases playoffs are a realistic possibility - i dont believe there is much difference in abilities between most of the teams in this division - many have capable players in the right system for them.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the close season brings but we made great strides last close season and made some decent additions.
