Whoever killed this lad should be given a full life tariff, any murderers should, we don't need to hear off defence lawyers about drug problems, broken homes etc which is usually bandied about, the killer took a knife or blade with him, he went out prepared to injure or kill someone, sorry its a life for a life for me, the justice system stinks in this country and while these mamby pamby sentences are handed out by the courts, murderers, child abusers, rapists will continue to do what they do, the sentences are way too lenient, this poor lad went out for a night's fun and it cost him his life, his killer will probably do about 6 years and then live his life free, how the hell is that punishment, it sickens me to the bones it really does

We lock more people up for longer than we ever have done before, and more than other countries. Appreciate emotions are running high naturally as it’s a shocking crime on all of our doorsteps, but the knee jerk of ‘sentencing is too lenient’ just isn’t right.

knee jerk reaction, are you having a laugh, tell that to James Bulgers parents and other parents who have lost their children to mindless crime and murder, most of us are parents and grandparents, majority of us have NOT lost a child to being stabbed or shot, if I lost a child this way I would want the maximum penalty handed out to the perpetrator, any sentence under 30 years for taking a life is way too lenient.

Like I said, it’s a shocking crime and the ones close to home always hit harder. I’ll leave it there as the debate on sentencing isn’t for now when nobody has even been convicted. Poor kid and his family.
