I was getting some stuff out of my car this morning (in south Liverpool) when a bloke walking past asks if I’m a Birmingham fan - hat a bit of a giveaway. I’m naturally suspicious. He then says he gets down the Blues a few times a year because his uncle used to play for us.I’m anxious now in case I don’t know the name but ask him anyway. “Fred Pickering”! Went west ham away in the early prem days.
Train got delayed, so got to the ground about 2mins after Stern scored his first.
Found me seat, watched Joe Cole equalise.
Went for a piss just before half time and missed Sterns second goal.
Got stuck waiting for a tube on the way back and missed the connection back to brum.
