What’s it been like now that those rumors have passed and you’ve been in Miami? Jaime Jaquez Jr.: It’s been great. I love Miami. This is where I wanted to be. I’m very happy that I’m here and helping contribute. That’s the biggest thing. I’m able to contribute and feel like I’m helping us win.

Coming into your rookie year, you had to deal with months of Damian Lillard trade rumors. How was it dealing with that? Jaime Jaquez Jr.: Welcome to the NBA. What do you think of the stigma that four-year college guys have a lower ceiling compared to younger prospects? Jaime Jaquez Jr.: Speaking for myself, I don’t think I’ve hit my maximum potential yet. People can think that. I’m just going to keep playing my game. Basketball is basketball. I think everyone can grow no matter how far they are. There’s always so much to learn. What are realistic goals for the Heat? Jaime Jaquez Jr.: We’re here to win. We’re trying to get back to the NBA Finals. I think we have a great team this year. We just need to stay healthy. I don’t think that’s unrealistic to get back to the Finals and say our goal is to win it. That’s why you play this game. You don’t play it to get second place.
