Google is working on a set of tools to better help news publishers boost paid subscriptions and earn more revenue from readers, according to a report from Bloomberg. These new features include an expansion of a service that better prioritizes content traditional trapped behind a paywall in search results by offering it free through the company’s Accelerated Mobile Pages, or AMP, platform.

China’s new cyber-court in the city of Hangzhou will start hearing cases today that exclusively deal with e-commerce and internet-related cases, according to China Law Blog. The court will have the ability to handle all aspects of a case online from beginning to end.

Iron Fist is the weakest hero of Marvel’s Netflix run. He’s a cartoonish character with no real depth, one who wields power through nonsensical actions. In the seemingly never-ending debate over whether or not the iPad is a computer, there is always something that prevents some people from adopting it as a full-time laptop replacement. For some, it might be the multitasking constraints, while others might have issue with the limitations of mobile Safari. In each case, it’s more often than not something specific, which means that while the iPad might be a great laptop replacement for some, it won’t be for everyone.

Most film and TV stories about innovation suggest that technological progress is the product of isolated, great men — almost exclusively men — working on fresh ideas, undeterred by the sweep of history or their peers’ small-mindedness. A company called Fidgetly, which describes itself as the "premiere fidget spinner company," is launching a Bluetooth-connected fidget spinner specifically designed for its new smartphone game. It's describing the product, called the FidgetlyCTRL, as the first-ever gaming fidget spinner. The idea is that you pair it with your phone, and Fidgetly's app will track users' "spinner stats," let them compete against friends, teach them tricks, and allow them to play games with the spinner used as a 360-degree motion controller. New photos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have surfaced on Chinese social networking site Weibo, as spotted by BGR. The photos show quite a thin device — rumored to be 8.5mm — with a huge infinity display, and smaller bezels than its predecessor, the recalled Galaxy Note 7. The back of the phone shows the dual camera, and the controversially placed fingerprint sensor.

The Garmin Fenix 5S isn’t the sports watch for everyone, given how expensive it is and how granular its activity-tracking features are. But for people looking for a specific kind of smartwatch — one that’s more focused on fitness than literally any other feature — it’s the best one out this year.

Call it a symptom of my tech journalist bubble, but somewhere over the past couple of years, I’ve lost the ability to be truly excited about new iPhones. Apple has contributed to this feeling, having kept its design changes incremental or, in the case of the headphone jack, haughtily unfriendly to the user. Apple’s partners have also helped things along by leaking almost everything about each new device, including the latest one to come this September.
