The Verge

The invite makes reference to a couch and popcorn, suggesting that Nest might be preparing a new gadget meant for the living room, but offers no other hints as to what might be coming late next month.

Faraday Future to take a reduced presence in Formula E

The Verge

A curious thing happened this morning: Formula E published a final list of the official team entries for the fourth season of the all-electric racing series, and Faraday Future was nowhere to be found. The electric car startup joined Formula E last summer as part of a multi-year commercial and technical contract with Dragon Racing, and raced all year with its criss-cross logo adorning the team’s cars. But, according to the series itself, season four will see the “return of the Dragon Racing name... Читать дальше...

The Verge

The X4 will be available in Europe starting in September for €399. It is expected to hit the US later this fall. Читать дальше...

After slow iterating the Miix tablet from its Core M roots, the new Miix 520 will include Intel’s 8th generation quad-core i7 processor. It’s an addition that pushes its CPU performance past Microsoft’s new Surface Pro, alongside 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and a 12.2-inch 1920 x 1200 display. Lenovo also offers a USB-C port, the company’s own active pen support, and an optional 3D camera for capturing images.

The Verge

Microsoft is fully unveiling its Windows Mixed Reality platform at IFA this week, and Lenovo is the latest headset maker to introduce its own device. These mixed reality controllers are an essential part of the experience, and they work without sensors. Читать дальше...

Marshall Headphones upgrades its Bluetooth speakers with multi-room audio

The Verge

Marshall is a name best known for its high-powered guitar amps, but the company has been licensing its brand to Zound Industries to produce more consumer-focused headphones and speakers for years now under a separate (but also very well-regarded) Marshall Headphones brand. And at IFA 2017, those speakers are making the jump to multi-room audio with upgraded versions of three of the more popular models — the Acton, the Stanmore, and the Woburn.

Microsoft’s new Mixer mobile app lets you stream games from iOS and Android

The Verge

Microsoft is launching its Mixer Create app on iOS and Android today, allowing gamers to steam mobile games. Both apps will support mobile gameplay streaming, but there are some restrictions on the iOS side. Any games can be streamed from Android (just like YouTube or Twitch currently support), and games will need to support Apple’s ReplayKit to enable streaming from an iPhone. That means not every iOS game will work, but titles like Star Trek Timelines, Goat Simulator, Into the Dead, and Modern Combat 5: Blackout will all be supported. Читать дальше...

The Verge

Sony has headphones for everyone. Seriously, they have neckbuds, earbuds, and over-the-ear headphones. The company is debuting three new models in the 1000X family at IFA in Berlin today to follow up on the success and positive reception of its noise-cancelling 1000X headphones. It's introducing the similarly-named wireless WF-1000X, the behind-the-neck WI-1000X, and the WH-1000XM2 headphones. All of these models feature noise cancellation, but that's most appealing to me on the wireless WF-1000X... Читать дальше...
