The Verge

Spotify has just renewed its licensing deal with Warner, the last crucial component needed before its public offering in late 2017 or early 2018. The deal is likely identical to what was struck with Universal in April, which included the option to initially hold back new albums from Spotify’s free tier and a break for Spotify in royalty payouts to the label.

The Verge

Amazon says shoppers can expect lower prices at Whole Foods stores starting that same day on “best-selling grocery staples” such as organic eggs, bananas, butter, salmon, ground beef, and — our Vlad Savov’s favorite — avocados. (Maybe he’ll change his mind about Amazon Prime now?)

Xperia XZ1 leak shows Sony sticking with the same, tired phone design

The Verge

Images of Sony's rumored Xperia XZ1 smartphone leaked today, and we're underwhelmed, to say the least. The device, which we're expecting to be announced on August 31st at IFA in Berlin, features two massive bezels. Generally, it looks like the same design we've seen with Xperia devices for years, which maybe wouldn't have mattered as much if nearly every major phone maker wasn't minimizing their bezels. LG, Samsung, and Essential all introduced phones this year with smaller bezels while Apple... Читать дальше...
