Microsoft showed off a new Minecraft-themed special edition version of the Xbox One S console during its Gamescom press conference in Cologne, Germany today, confirming the news first teased in a Facebook video posted earlier today that gave us a glimpse of the gorgeous pixel art paint job.

Microsoft has hinted that it’s planning a light mode for the Xbox One for a while, but the company gave us a good look at it today. During a Gamescom press event, Microsoft’s Xbox vice president Mike Ybarra revealed the new white theme for the dashboard, and it looks a lot like the classic Xbox 360 UI. The light mode isn’t exactly white, but it looks more like a light grey for those who aren’t fond of the existing black dashboard.

Microsoft revealed at its Gamescom press event today that the company has more than 100 games ready and enhanced for the upcoming Xbox One X console. The enhancements will include 4K and HDR support in many cases, and mean that a game has been updated to support the new power inside the Xbox One X. Sony had more than 45 games enhanced for the PS4 Pro during its launch period last year.

We’ve know since E3 that the hugely popular survival shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to Xbox One later this year as a timed exclusive. But “PlayerUnknown” himself, game designer Brendan Greene, says Microsoft Studios is now the official publisher of the console version of the game. That means Greene and his development team at Korean studio Bluehole now have the added resources of the Xbox maker itself, which should certainly help with speeding up development and helping the team hit its 2017 release target.
