According to Shams Charania, the Miami Heat are expected to be a prominent suitor for Bradley Beal if he hits the trade block.

However, sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity insisted that the Sixers will not be pursuing Bradley Beal and are not interested in him as a long-term building block. The concerns on Philadelphia’s end are all the obvious ones laid out above. Committing $200 million to a player over the next four years under a CBA that is punitive for expensive teams is not a route they’re looking to travel.

I heard this week from one well-placed observer who is convinced that the Pelicans would indeed consider dealing Williamson away if it meant they could draft Henderson, pointing to a rising level of exasperation within the organization regarding Williamson’s ongoing availability issues and overall approach. My read, at this juncture, is that the Pelicans are less inclined to consider trading Brandon Ingram in the same scenario.

With the NBA Finals over, multiple players have option dates due within the next few weeks. Free agency begins on June 30, 2023, but all options will have been exercised or not by the day before. There are also a handful of players with non or partially-guaranteed contracts whose guarantee dates are by June 30.

Watson fell to Denver at No. 30. He didn’t play much this year, but coaches, players and staff are optimistic he could seize a big role next season — especially if Brown leaves in free agency.
