Ricky Council was the leading scorer for a star-studded Arkansas squad which may see four players selected in the 2023 NBA draft. Projected to be taken in the second round, Council is an athlete who has the potential to grow into a solid three-and-D type of player in the NBA.

Chris Haynes: For clarity, the NBPA has an issue with the length of Ja Morant’s 25-game suspension and the unstated conditions he is required to fulfill upon returning. The Union will meet with Morant to determine next steps with an appeal being under consideration.

The Washington Wizards have granted star Bradley Beal and his representatives permission to speak with teams the three-time All-Star has interest in being traded to, league sources tell B/R. Beal and the Wizards have agreed to work together on finding the guard a new home should the franchise choose to embark on a rebuild. Beal has not requested a trade, sources say. It’s believed Beal will only consider teams with a chance to win.

Brian Windhorst: The Zion Williamson thing is there. At the very least, it is very clear that the Pelicans’ thought on Zion Williamson’s future with the team is evolving. That’s putting it mildly. There is no relationship between Zion and the organization. And minimal relationship between Zion and his teammates, from what I understand.

Michael Jordan is finalizing a sale of the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, ending his 13-year run as majority owner, league sources told ESPN on Friday. An agreement is expected to be signed in the coming days, sources said. The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly been exploring the possibility of trading up in the draft to select Scoot Henderson, which has led to speculation that they are open to moving on from Zion Williamson.
