I think it depends on your vocabulary. I’ve never seen the river burst its banks there, but I have seen the pitch & changing rooms flooded. It appears to me, the untrained eye, that drainage of surface water is the issue rather than “flooding” from the river. Happy to be educated though.

Call me old fashioned but I thought the idea of a sporting league was to finish as high up the table as possible. Points at the start of the season are worth the same as those at the end. Hughes strategy these days seems to be to try and get away with the cheapest squad he can then augment it when he realises the blindingly obvious fact we are not good enough. Tindall's strike rate isn't just about finishing, its also about getting himself into positions where he can score, even if it means coming infield. All the best wingers have that hunger to score tries, and his record suggests he just doesn't. Roberts may not be as good as a genuine wing, but he can also play centre.

I'd rather we sign no one and put all resources into next year.

As long as we can get 17 out and avoid relegation that's enough.
Can't see us winning many over the next 8-12, weeks with so many missing.
Will mean playing Hooley / tindall and Olpherts + players out of position for too many games

I don't blame him and Bull Mania makes a great point re salary however what a kick in the teeth that must be for the coaching and medical staff (well those who are left). I can only imagine it is a difficult job at the best of times let alone when you spend most of week guessing who is available to select, Lee Greenwood in recent interviews has said as much and a number of players have returned to their parent clubs.

Re Shawn Blore he would seem to tick all the boxes in terms of what Smith is looking for in age, attitude and talent plus seems he would also be available this season too. After having a quick look he certainly seems to have been a highly regarded junior but looks like injury has derailed his progress in terms becoming a main stay in the NRL. He's certainly young enough to come over to SL for a couple years and make a name for himself to attract attention back in the NRL.

It tells you a lot about the man and how out of his depth he is. He has acted alone here when he simply should not have done. Graham Smyth was saying yesterday that the 49ers wanted the deal done by the weekend. This possibly delays this but lets see. if it does delay matters, yet again Radrizannis actions negatively impact the club.
