Deal been offered head coach and player keen to make it happen a few minor visa issues but should be able to get sorted for 2024
7. Roberts/Sinfield
6. Gannon/Myler
1. Handley/Myler
9. O'Connor/Johnson
Even though Roberts is old and slow he doesn't worry me as much as Handley at fullback.

Wakefield Trinity • Re: Potential DOR?

The whole coaching set up needs a review and a sweep. They must happen for 2024.

That doesn’t mean Apelgarth can’t remain in some capacity but he’s not ready for head coach. Though this experience early in his coaching career could serve him well if he steps back to an assistant. It has to be under a coaching set up with some quality and knowledge.

On John Kear. Circumstances from years ago are different and it’s more his knowledge and man management that are of use. This could certainly be used in a director of rugby position. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Today’s Disciplinary

So….

No crusher …. Ref stopped play for what appeared on the day to be a reaction to the KR crowd and a player pleading his innocence gets binned pretty much closing out the opportunity of a comeback.

It was obvious live that there was no wrong in the tackle from Dave. Even more so on highlights.
We just don’t get any luck.

It’s not the reason we lost but it was the reason a comeback was made unlikely.

But the players Shudds have amassed this season and the money spent on the squad makes ours look like loose change compared . They probably had more money running out in the reserves than our first team . A case of too many cooks I think

Much as I dislike Leeds, I despise Shudds going back to those early SL years, anything that keeps the cowbell quiet works for me.

Wigan Warriors • Kruise Leeming signed from 2024

Huddersfield is a good shout. Powell just loves signings, so it could be anyone but the fact they look short at hooker, makes it a possibility.

I would have given it to Smithies or Miski for Wigan.
I thought French was very quiet. As NK has said French needs to concentrate on his running game and leave the distribution to Smith.

I'm not sure he can atm. He's in a position that's completely alien to him when he gets the ball with little space between him and the defenders. Iv thought about... Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Widnes

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Kears gone. I know Wood isn't everyone's cup of tea (putting it mildly) and owners always look less bad when things are going well on the field. But Widnes look an absolute shambles whereas we at least have some stability. We have our Academy license, making some decent signings etc

It's a case of Let's Go Round Again as the P&B welcome this season's first victims, Leeds, back to the Halliwell Jones Pleasuredome for another tilt at the distinctly Average Wire Band this Thursday

It all seemed so straightforward back in February but our visitors will be buoyed by their recent shellacking of Huddersfield whilst we must learn a lesson or three from our recent performances and quickly. Who'll come out on top?

You decide and Good Luck

Leeds Rhinos • What is it that Wigan can see that Leeds management can’t

So with Walters and Kruise being lorded by Wigan, who are a very successful club in todays terms. What is it that Leeds fail to see in these players to not try to retain their services?

It was a very good performance last week where they performed most of the fundamental principles of rugby league well (maybe Kear or Noble are secretly working for us in an advisory role?).
I’m only going to start getting excited again though once they manage it two weeks in a row.

To be fair the core of our pack is all homegrown Smithies, Havard, Shorrocks and Byrne.

Powell and Farrell have been cornerstones but are coming to the end. Leeming is likely Powell replacement. Читать дальше...

Not all about attack was there any improvement in the defence .When players like Hood are walking straight back in to the team sums it up were we are to me

Nothing wrong with Hood's defense. He does a lot of work.
My only issue is his speed of distribution and speed of feet if he runs.
Bowes would be the one with larger minutes for me but Hood made 30 tackles. Only Pitts and Battye made more.

I think because he's left on too long he looks tired and can make mistakes. Читать дальше...

Who knows they might have, then again....

I actually went to the game yesterday and for the first quarter Salford were on the front foot both in attack and defence and more than a match for Wigan in both facets of the game. Wigan's lead was fortuitous as it was inevitable if there can be such a paradox.

My takeaways from the game were that aggressive defence... Читать дальше...

The Last Tackle - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lc54uPgnhk contains an interview with Derek Beaumont, which got me thinking, "Was the Rebrand a success?"

Obviously the team have achieved the primary goal of survival, at a very important juncture in the game, with Franchising coming in next season. The team are now focused on Playoffs and Challenge Cup, but what about the other aspects of the Rebrand?

After the Huddersfield game we need to have another big performance v Warrington. Warrington are not in form and we know what that usually means, a win is coming for them. Hopefully the injuries to Smith and Sangare aren’t that serious.
