Ive just been away in the sun. for a couple of weeks and took Gareths book with me. What a great read it is with some real revelations about the team dynamic and personalities at our club since he signed. ASs well as some great insights including what really happened in the changing rooms at Widnes that night in 2016. His admiration of Danny houghton shines through too. Yeah, I found the bit and it does seem to be a reference to age. Doesn’t add weight or take any away from the rumours either way.

I think it’s clear Wane has tried to whip up a ‘us vs them’ mentality in his squad and I’ve no issue with that at all but my the same token, I’ve no real issue with Wellens working for Tonga either. It’s common place in other sports coaches being involved against their home nations. I know it’s a bit different with Wellens having been involved with England and leaving that role pre World Cup but in fairness to him, he did have his first head coaching position to plan for, so it was understandable. I know we haven't played a minutes Rugby yet but on paper could it be argued that we now have the best coaching staff and Rugby related support staff in place than at any other time in the clubs history. Now the record of Ken Traill and Paddy Armour in the glory days of the 60`s would probably poo poo the above statement, following that I think we had some great people in place, I remember Ben Quansah who was a permanent fixture as club physio for years, he did a great job alongside Doc Hulme keeping the 1979 Wembley team fit that season. I honestly would not mind the re-signings if we got more of 2022 than 2023 out of those players. The worry is that teams arround us do look to be making some handy signings and we look like we will go with a really small squad and will have to be reliant on DR and loans for cover. Financially 2023 has pretty much been a disaster for us in more ways than one and we will have to pay for that in 2024 but we are not the only ones in that boat.

Shows that there are a lot of people willing to back the club if they demonstrate through actions that they're going in the right direction. Getting it right on the field certainly helps. There was definite signs of improvement on last year from the off but it was a low bar to clear. Unfortunately for him Mark Dunning couldn't get rid of the inconsistency but I think by the back end of the season we'd done that and built a much stronger team spirit than we've had for years. I think it is more for saving their pitch so I wouldn’t expect any big following for them at Trinity. This was also a short notice after the announcement.

One of the best things we could get from this could be a boost in social media subscriptions if Wednesday can put a few posts out to support a rugby club they’re in partnership with.

The meltdown from the Rovers fans is great, can't believe Wane has dropped Lewis for Williams, can't think of a reasom why, except Williams is the captain, was our best player in the world cup amd 5 times better than Lewis.
