True, its not appealing, and appears to be a mess, and the owner doesnt help himself by keep going AWOL when there's a sh** storm going down in Wigan, then chucking a little tweet out thinking it will keep everyone happy.
the -23 is if they go into administration (and most likely be in that region because of the recent history). reading the EFL rules, its at least -10 points. The administration process appeared to be complete farce last time with the accountants dragging it out for all they could get, and then the Latics still get a cowboy of an owner. I'm sure someone should do a fit and proper check on the fit and proper owner check, cos it certainly doesnt work for many football clubs, as this is the 2nd owner since Whelan moved on to leave the Latics in a right mess
as you say from an investment perspective, they havent got many assets that they can sell in terms of players (without looking at what they have left) and the stadium needs money spending on it, so it could become a drawn out process again.
