I don’t know the figures on how many make it from each age group generally but I would be surprised if it’s more than two or three. Plenty of our juniors have progressed to first team either here or elsewhere.

The bottom line is if it wasn’t for Leeds, Wigan and Sts the player pool would be in bother, maybe a bit of credit to widnes and Wakefield who have a smattering across the league.

Huddersfield have a great academy also

Shame not to see Hampshire - on the positive side that's a huge backline which should eat up the metres.

The Pope´s Exorcist

Horror is certainly not my genre but I was pulled in by the promise of Russell Crowe riding a Vespa and to be honest I enjoyed it, despite Hollywood´s current penchant for gratuitous gore.

The characters are well built the story holds together nicely and runs at some pace (a few glaring errors like Crowes figure riding over 2,000km on a Vespa between locations) with decent enough acting and some quite sinister moments which will have you reaching for the cushions. Читать дальше...

Ian Watson is quoted in League Express as saying that Owen Trout has rejected a new contract because other clubs "are throwing money at him". Are we one of the throwers do you think?

I thought forums were places where one could express an opinion, mine and others are no less valid than yours - it's simply what I would have done given the chance, but the club are standing by Dunning and we'll see how that works out for good or ill.

Now I think you should probably have a lie down and don't fret too much its just a forum, it doesn't really matter.

When you've got to go back to 1999 for some content to criticise you know you're not onto a winner.

Doncaster RLFC • Notes from supporters meeting

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Update from last nights advisory board, I have copied and pasted these supporter notes, these are not official club minutes. (And apologies I missed the post asking for questions earlier in the week)

The club have extended Luke Coopers loan until the end of the season, with a 48 hour clawback option.

The club are pleased with the current playing squad and are continually looking to strengthen the squad if needed. All players are available for selection this weekend.

The club... Читать дальше...

Not many careers where offered a job in Widnes or in London you’d go for the former. Not sure what this says about him, us or RL in general. Only know this is shaping up to be a season of modest improvement. Really modest improvement.
In absolute fairness, if Leigh stay up, which looks likely, he may be moving on. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Contract window - behind the 8 ball again

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

So, was having a conversation about this yesterday.

Why are clubs allowed to negotiate contracts with other clubs players in May?

We are 1/3 or a bit more through the season only.

Also, you have teams like us and Cas who at present look to be at serious risk of relegation.

Because of this (again) we are likely unable to agree contracts to players and likely certain players won’t entertain our offers for 2024. This imo seriously puts clubs like us under pressure. Also... Читать дальше...

He's always been better than he's gotten credit for. You don't manage at the top level for as long as him if you don't know what you're doing. Yes, he'll never win the champions league, but would Pep be able to save a struggling team from relegation mid season? Probably not.

Just to say that I don't defend Saints over everything, there are a lot of things I disagree with that we do and I've made my feelings known on that.

However in this instance, initially I could fully understand the thoughts of other fans, in particular Wigan who provided a large number of the team.

It's no secret that Woolf and Wane didn't get on. Rightly or wrongly Woolf put Saints first over the international game and his focus was 100% on Saints. Wellens is a different matter... Читать дальше...
