Leeds Rhinos • Re: OUT 2024 | Luke Hooley - Castleford

Barring his debut, he’s certainly given a good account of himself and I can only credit him for wanting to go and cement a first choice spot elsewhere.

Warrington Wolves • George Williams (Jykell & Hyde)?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'd be very surprised if Nathan Cleary would have made any difference to the second half of our season. Maybe bringing Burgess in sooner with the current squad would have, who knows? But we knew he wasn't available, and maybe it's better for him to start from scratch in the off-season.

GW is the best half-back on these shores, and I'm glad we're the ones who have him. Like any half-back though, he can't win on his own. See Alfie Langer 2000-2001 for reference.

We’ve done our first bit of recruitment with Robbie Storey from Keighley a promising young centre.

Fairly happy with that, looks a decent prospect. Keighley's top try and points scorer this season and bagged their "Rising Star Award".

I guess a centre is definitely headed out the door.

Welcome Musgrove.

Let’s get shut of auld butterfingers and his useless sidekick Dudson.

Two of the worst signings in Warrington’s history.

I see Wire are being linked to Justin Olam again.

Strange one given you've got King, Tai, Wrench and Ratchford next season. But perhaps you're going to stockpile centres like Wigan are doing with props?

What was discussed in the face to face meeting they had will be key. If as i expect the EA now remove their objection and replace it with recommendations then i’d expect it to get waved through.

Well whatever they discussed it didn't work! Time wise they are probably screwed now to be honest.

Looking forwards to seeing Ellis and French in particular having big games after being robbed of places in the reserve final last week.

Basically WR is in Flood Zone 3, contructing anything these days in here is hard and needs more robust mitigation than citing atmosphere and fan zones. This may have been discussed with the EA but when I've tried to reason with them in the past they are often black and white and very risk averse, even when presented with evidence that would show how a development mitigate any potential flooding issues by raising levels and providing compensatory storage.

Nail on head.
Just like the negotiations for the previous TV deal, BT sports (now TNT sports) were mentioned to try and persuade Sky to increase their offer, clearly, it didn't have much effect.

Wigan Warriors • Rumours and signings v9

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'd say that Smithies has had a better Wigan career than what Williams had. William's played in a better side (probably) and obviously they play in different positions and that means they have different impacts on games. I'd put Smithies on par with him tho. I think he's that good.

You'd suspect money isn't the issue - signing with an Australian agent was an indication that NRL is simply an itch he wants to scratch. We'll see what happens but Thompson is looking like a direct replacement (although Wigan have historically announced this type of thing all at once).

Yeah, in the balance of being fair there's always more than money. What we've seen however (with Thompson and Williams) is that money talks.

We've probably offered him a good contract, I've no doubt about that. Читать дальше...

Toulouse look like they're full strength. We look very battered and bruised. Hopefully we have a siege mentality for this. Will take one hell of an effort.

Regarding the scores at the moment nobody really knows what they are going to get.. and we will all know soon enough the scores that other clubs got.
It is then that we need to make sure that we squeeze every last point out of IMG..
But we’re in a better position with the stadium and the takeover than some other clubs moving forward.

The member shareholder meeting update from the RWB Facebook page is an accurate assessment of the the meeting last night …
My thoughts coming away from the meeting was that … while I’m not a fan of the IMG grading criteria… we all need to get our heads round it because it’s essentially become as important as the on field product…

I agree also that it would appear that John Minards has spent a lot of time and effort pouring over these figures and I doubt anyone at our club has a better handle on it than him. Читать дальше...
