Wakefield Trinity • Steve Mills

Looks like he’s been charged with identifying and signing off player deals . Sounds like he has a good network both here and in Aus and keeping an eye out for those rough diamonds from the world of RL . Exciting times ahead

Agreed brilliant interview on the site.

Eseh, Chan and Hill to get “Wigan fit” for a year then replace Isa, Cooper and maybe Mago.

I'm not a fan of statues for living people, I would like to see a modern art sculpture outside the stadium which represents rugby league - it would tie us nicely to the unofficial city of sculpture title that Wakefield has

Good to see it all put together. Lucas Green might be included. I'd like to see a bit more of Rodrick Tai before I'd hand him a shirt with 3 on it. Just being cautious after what little I have seen.

Warrington Wolves • 2024 squad

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I think this is right for the first 20 or so, but I need some help with the young players who will fill the squad. Please add or amend (I'm bound to have forgotten someone). I've gone with what I suspect will be the first 17, not necessarily my choice...

1. Dufty
2. Thewlis
3. Tai
4. King
5. Ashton
6. Williams
7. Drinkwater
8. Musgrove
9. Walker
10. Vaughan
11. Fitzgibbon
12. Currie
13. Nicholson

14. Dwyer
15. Philbin
16. Kasiano
17. Harrison

Am I right to feel slightly peeved that Danika, one of the summarisers for C4's Grand Final coverage, felt it necessary to add "unfortunately" after describing how Wigan "ran away with the second half"?

Did she mean that she was miffed because it was a one-sided victory and therefore bad for the game? Because it wasn't really. It was only one-sided in the last quarter.

Was it just a harmless turn of phrase, which didn't really mean anything? Maybe, except... Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • An old chesnut.

On building a new club, I would love Matt to commit to having a statue of Big Neil Fox commissioned whilst Neil is still alive, its a minor thing whilst we have higher priorities with the team etc but it could galvanise a projection of the club, a massive asset of our history !

In a way I admire the honesty, rather than trying to act all impartial as many pundits do. She openly stated on Twitter she’s from Yorkshire, supports Leeds and is biased towards those Yorkshire clubs and likes to see them doing well. In that case, it’s no wonder she comes across as bitter because all but one of the Yorkie clubs (do HKR class themselves as Yorkshire? Humberside?) have been pretty shambolic recently!

Hull FC • TV Games - Not Hull

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I am all for promoting the game but the more i read about IMG i just cant see what they are doing to enhance the game.
The grading system is nonsense. Its what happens on the field and where you finish in S/L should be what counts, and to remove promotion and relegation does nothing to add any interest or excitement for fans.
This seasons Championship play offs to me were more interesting than seeing Wigan at the top of the S/L table.
My opinion is that the RFL have been taken in by the big... Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • Re: 2024 l Academy, Scholarship & Reserves News

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Really hard to say Tad: we went through a period of forwards graduating (Smith, Oledski, Holroyd, Walters, Gannon, O’Connor) who are all at first grade level. Corey Johnson 50/50 too.

Newman has come through but injury prone. Other than that nobody has stuck in the back line for a very long time.

I think that might change and we have a raft of backs coming through. Edgell and Lumb already on the fringe, Simpson could make the grade if recovered, then Webster, Frater, Smith, Qareqare... Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Recruitment rumours and links

I never really thought that Ratchford would be No2 hooker. Crowther might be fine. Dwyer makes breaks, drops goals, is very excitable & sometimes cocks up but I do remember him & Leeming (at Leeds) tearing us apart.
We can either enjoy our moaning (as we do) for 2 years or get behind him.

I mean he’s 34 and I think we need a few players late 20s in the forwards.

6 of the 8 players signed up are 30-36 years old with the forwards closer to 35 than 30.

Wakefield Trinity • IMG Announce Proposed Criteria for Super League 2025

Indeed. We'll get a much lower score on provisional.

I'm sure our resident haters will say the old guard did nothing and Ellis turned that score round but we'll just have to put up with that.

Hopefully we'll have the pack cabable of giving him the platform to cause the chaos he thrives on. I thought he played well in his time at Leeds but Hull was a bad move for him.
Welcome back from the dark side Brad.

He may still be...that statement from JM yesterday just said that he was stepping down as Chairman, not that he was leaving the club, and with this being his area of expertise for the past few months I will be very surprised if ME has just allowed him to walk away ??
