Well I’m fairly happy with Dwyer, yes we could do better, but not really in this country. I think the club knew it too getting him secured early.

On a personal note, there isn’t a single player at Wire won me as much money.
I was drawing on him regularly as first, or last try scorer in the 2nd half.
I don’t think I’ve shown a profit since he left.

He backs himself, I always like that and that’s why I put my money on him. There hasn’t been a player who would take it on... Читать дальше...

Leigh Leopards • More on 'an interesting way to spend your time'

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Quite recently I suggested that writing a novel based roughly on your own life was an interesting way to spend time and that this might be even better for any of your older relatives as they will have many more tales to tell about their life and times.
I said that I have also written three pages of advice based on my having written six Lancashire based fictional novels which include plenty rugby league tales.
So if you if you would like to receive this advice, E Mail me at wgeofflee@gmail.com... Читать дальше...

Why shouldn’t he try and create a siege mentality? He’s trying to win a series and will look to use any tools he can to achieve that. Woolf didn’t say anything out of the ordinary by his standards but if Wane thinks he can find an angle to give his side an edge, he’s going to do that. I think this battle with Woolf is pretty important to Wane. He’s never come out and said it but I’m pretty sure he’d have been seething with Woolf’s attitude to his Saints players turning... Leeds Rhinos • Re: Transfer Talk / Rumour thread V4

My issue isn’t so much with the capability or potential or Oledzki, Holroyd, Lisone or Sangare, it’s what happens when 2 or 3 of them are out at the same time. You need 6 decent prop options in your squad and we have 4 (at best).

Wigan Warriors • England Secure Test Series Win Over Tonga

If I remember rightly the pitch (even if it was not fit for test rugby) and the referee at Saints was the same for both sides, correct me if I am wrong. He made no comment about being outplayed and, dare I say it, outcoached.
However, I think that I have to cut him a bit of slack as it was his captain who added fuel to the fire when he said, "England did not win the opening Test, Tonga lost it". I do not recall either of them saying that England were the best side, but I am willing to be corrected. Читать дальше...

Luis Johnstone still without a club, surely worth bringing in on trial. I reckon he’ll go London, play regularly and kick on

Johnson would be worth a shout IMO. Still without a club as far as i know and he'd certainly strengthen us in the second row.

Premiership football is a million times bigger than nrl fact

We know this. Even people living in Burundi with no real interest in any sport know this. Although it’s more like 10 to 15 times bigger by revenue, based on some very rudimentary internet research… which is less than I’d have guessed.

The NRL is still some distance behind Korean baseball though, which I also wouldn’t have guessed. I suppose the AFL is dominant outside Eastern Australia... Читать дальше...

Roberts got steadily better last year. Not a word beater but serviceable. I think he looked better in the centre though.

I don’t get why people feel the need to say lauding a success like this is an issue.

It’s clear the on field performance hasn’t been good enough.

But at some point you have to be a fan of the game and if we had a few more clubs run off the field like ours is we’d be in a lot better place as whole.

Olpherts will be first choice wing and possibly even centre cover. I know staff haven’t written him off like fans have….
May move though if offered first choice rugby…which would worth out both ways too as he’s a reasonable earner….!

Just watched PNG vs Fiji, Wakeman had a really good game, totally outplayed Lam, I'm not saying we should have signed him, but people write players off because they don't perform well in the NRL and particularly for struggling sides like Wests and Bulldogs.
